flowering days? harvest days????

i have a question i always wanted to ask, im a newbie at this but when people said their plant is 30 or 40 days of flowering does that mean the days count when u start put them to 12/12 ??? or count the days you vegged too?
how do i read those days? and count??? since my friend told me his plant is finish in 70+days..include flowering... he said 2weeks vegg and only 4to 5 weeks to flower then harvest....which one is correct??

when people say 30 days flowering that means they have been under 12/12 for 30 days.

You have to ask. some people dont count till after they see a preflower while I like mastercheefer start to count from the day I changed the time to 12/12 which is what I have always done but it usually depends on the trichomes. Best of Luck.
