Flower/veg rooms question

I recently posted in the design section that i was going to build a 2x6x7 grow cabinet, split at 4 width, giving me two rooms, 2x4 flowering room and 2x2 veg room and clone (upper area) room.

Someone just told me that my design is not efficient and i my dimensions are wrong. My plan was to do a perpetual harvest with 2 plants in 5 gallons pots, they said that the 2x2 veg area will not be enough area to veg two plants in 5 gallon pots for two or more months, and if i wanna reduce pot size and veg time then the 2x4 flower space is not really necessary because i can yield the same in 2x2 with one plant in bigger container and longer veg.

They suggested and i build a 2x4x7 area split into two 2x2 one for veg and one for flower and grow one plant in each. or make the veg room bigger if i want to grow two plants(cannot happen since i have size limitations).

Is that right? A 2x2 cannot hold two vegging plants for 8+ in 5 gallon pots? I am on a budget so it my plan is not efficient i would scale down the cabinet size and spend the money on something more productive.

My plan is to harvest around 250grams each cycle (2-3 months), will a 2x2 area with appropriate lighting and environment be able to put that weight?

Check out this guys thread. He seems to specialize in small tents but runs a great show. I don’t recall his harvest numbers, but it will give you something to look at.

My style is a bit different. I would do 2 plants in a 3x3x6 or 4x2. My opinion is that I can get bigger yields with fewer plants as they seem to stunt when crowded into small spaces. 2x2 only gives each plant a square foot to spread out. Something to think about.

My flower room will be 2x4, but the problem is with the veg room, i dont think a 2x2 will be able to handle two plants in 5 gallons, topped and trained for 8 weeks. It can handle 1 plant, thus making the 2x4 flowering space unnecessary for 1 plant. I dont know if im thinking right, or 2 plants can be vegged in 2x2.

I’m a little buzzed so forgive me if I don’t follow well. Vegging in the 2x2 shouldn’t be a problem. It’s just that some plants will grow larger than others in 8 weeks.

Another option, you could veg in the 2x2 and then begin training in the flower room for a week or two before you flip. So one room would be a semi-nursery and the other the teenager to flower room of that makes sense.

They're kind of right. You're plan would be doable, but the plants won't be happy.

2 feet deep, 6 feet wide, 7 feet tall is the cabinet dimensions?

Is this going to be a stealth cabinet? Meaning the electronics and fans live inside? Or are they able to live outside the cabinet and the entire thing can be used for growing?

If it were me, and I didn't have to worry about stealth, I'd split the cabinet up so there are 4, 2' deep, 3' wide, and 3.5 feet tall "rooms", use LEDs, and SCROG each plant, staggering my harvests. 3 flower rooms and one veg/clone/mom room. There's no reason why moms, clones, and vegging plants can't live in the same space.

Then when I harvest a plant, I'd veg the next one out for two to four weeks while I train it to the screen and then flip to 12/12 lighting for that "room".

Once you got the rhythm down, You'd take a cutting, 10 days later you have a clone, 2 weeks later it goes into a "flower room" for 2 weeks of training, then flip the lighting. You'd go from cutting to a plant in your vegging are for 4 weeks at the most. Top it once or twice while in the vegging area to start the training for your screens.

Of course, my plan only works if you have strains to grow with similar finishing times. It'd never work if you have an 8-9 week strains and an 11-12 week strains.

Yes stealth is inportant, i live in lebanon so i will be growing the lebanese strain most probably, since i do not have access to feminized seeds of any sort. I will be working witu clones most of the time.

I was thinking of having two 2x2 spaces, i veg for 2 montus with appropriate training, then flower for 2 or 2.5 months (average flowering time for the lebanese landrace), and move a clone to the veg room and repeat the cycle so i will he harvesting every 2 to 2.5 months. A plant if trained properly for 2 months in a big container then flowered under a 180-200w quantun board, wouldnt it be able to make half a pound in a 2x2 space?
