i'm on day 16 of flowering, males were thrown out last week. medium is soil and light is envirolite 200W flowering. Top44 from Nirvana.

all has been cool so far (this is my first grow) but now when i came home after a long and hard day of school and work, i found out my goddamn timer stopped working, so instead of switching off at noon, it continued on until i came home now and fixed it....

basically, they got almost 22h of light when it should've switched off after 12h.. its in my closet and i left home just 15minutes to noon, so i closed my door relying on my timer that it would shut off in about a 15mins (because closet needs to be a bit open when lights are on for ventilation and temp issues, and of course closed during dark period) ...when i came home they had been gotten light all day with the closet door closed, and the temp was FUCKING 39C/100F !!!!!!!!

summary: light cycle got fucked up, and temps got WAY out of hand during the day... so how fucked am i right now??

btw, no major signs on the plants, leaves a little yellowish on the lower branches, otherwise looks pretty ok i guess. i'm just worried that their flowering periods n shit got really fucked up.

should i continue with my 12/12 noon/midnight (switching my lights on again after 2 hours), or should i now let them get 12 hours of darkness and then continue from there with 12/12 again?

thanks guys... :badday:

i would just continue with my 12/12 noon/midnight. the day was a bit long for them, but they will recover. you may get a little stretch from it. Make sure you invest in a reliable timer. too many of them long days could result in hermies.

No big deal. Do whatever is more convenient for you in your life right now. :) I've had lights (ballast) go out for days in flower... and they kicked right back into it once the light was fixed without a hitch.

ya i had a few problems like this in my first grow, with the electric going out for a few hours every now and then and they never looked the worse for it, although idealy u want to avoid anything like this completely.

Yeah, nothing to worry about. The plants don't know shit about light, they only understand the dark. 12 hours of dark and 20 of light or 12 hours of dark and 12 or light is still only one day to them.

thats not true. a plant gets on a cycle and expects to be kept at that cycle, although not detrimental ( i JUST did same thing but lol) it will confuse them but they should be fine.. maybe not notice any growth for a couple days..

EDIT: for future reference, they can handle the dark better then extra light.. so if the timer f's up again, make sure they get stuck in the dark cycle.

Same shit happend to me with my digital timer!!! I hate those things with a passion. I went for my morning checkup and noticed the light was not on, and the fooking timer was flickering all silly style. I about shat my shorts!!! Got that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach ... hate that feeling. :badday: I feel you, trust me on that one. I was only about 9 days into 12/12 when this happend. The timer was working ... slowly and it said it was 11 at night when it was really like 10 in the morning. I'm not sure how long the light stayed on, but I'm sure it was on longer than the 12 it should have been on. All in all, I dont see any negative side effect on them and they are flowering beautifully!!!
