i am looking for a diagram and a list of required parts to build a flip flop device to run up to 6 digital lights, so it will need some sort of timer so they can shut down for 1 or 2 minutes before re-starting. the application will be for 240v-50hz.

thanks for you feedback fella's, i have all ready scoured this site but cant find the info i need....... here in australia our appliances run on 50 hz as apposed to the 60 hz in the usa......i am actually looking to build this for a foaf in the uk! so the components will of course have to be british and i am not looking to purchase anything ready made from the states.

db2004 you obviously know whats going on in the electrical department, is there any info that you can provide me for my little project? you dont have to post it in the public forum if you feel that it may reduce sales from your business

oops thats not for digi's but you could get an idea you just need to incorporate a timer to shut it down maybe use 2 relays...good luck...

NTE R04 series are 50/60Hz
just make sure you buy the one with the right coil voltage

i run mine on this timer setting digital or not i have fryed contact points

flip flop/ballast on/off timer settings
11:58 ballast off
11:59 flop switch (timer "on")
12:00 ballast on
23:58 ballast off
23:59 flop switch (timer "off")
24:00 ballast on

basicly all you have to do is build a light controller for the ballast on top of the flip flop as to making one unit for 6 i would make 1 unit per 2-3 ballast its easyer once you start set up in your 2 rooms and you have a 30 foot max ballast to bulb. it only cost about $10 more per unit, the way i do mine is 1 unit per ballast....

then make sure your time's on your timers are set to the same
here's a good link for the light controller http://www.hydroponics.net/learn/grow-light-controller.asp

Just a little FYI... My new Quantum Horticulture digital ballast works just fine on a regular flip without having to turn the ballast on and off...
