Flea collar for mite control?

Don't know about collars, but garlic does the job nice.

And in case of ongoing infestation I use a solution I found in MynameStitch's thred, called the "tobacco syrup" it works 100%

Those collars are pretty nasty stuff...even stronger than No Pest strips IMO. I'd stay away from those collars and stick with strips.

i use the strips and neem if i have too. is the neem safe and have no flavor if i stop using it a month before harvest?

Yup, I'd give the neem 3 weeks for the stank to go away, but even so, trying not to get it on the buds. 3 weeks before harvest you are also safe to use Pyrethrin foggers. If you still see mites in the final weeks of flower, vacuum them off with a handheld vac, add air movement, and drop temps a bit to slow them down and give your plants time to finish.

And there's always the possibility of running ladybugs! :D
