Flat and wide vs regular pot shape

other than shallow pots dry MUCH faster (greater surface area), they should be fine. An added bonus! Very difficult to overwater 
How does our beloved plants grow in a flat and wide pot/tray? A 60x60x10cm give room for 36 liters, a 30x30 need to be 40cm tall to get the same volume.
And it doesent have to be 10cm, 20 cm tall will be fine, and 72 liters

Those pots are measured in cubic yards/meters!
The plants appear to be 8 to 12 ft tall (2-3 meters).
And Switcher has it right...
IMO:
If you use a HEAVY soil the wider containers will work better. More surface area will allow better air penetration to the rhizosphere.
If you use a light soil the taller narrower containers seem to work better because they'll retain a little bit more moisture.
