Of course you lose weight. Volume too. Water is heavy stuff and that's what you're removing with a flash dry.
The question is, do you lose trichs? I don't know. Fortunately, I'm a fan of the water cure, which only takes 8 days, so I don't do a lot of flash dries.

How quick of a time frame are you talking here
I have done a few fast dries, like 2 days type thing, and the smoke was harsh as shit, the buds were airy and yeah I lost quite a bit of count. I find a slow dry, cool, dry environment you lose count, but the buds are denser, and the smoke is smooth
It takes about 7 to 14 days now for me to properly dry before a cure

so... if you were to put your buds, hanging, in a cardboard box, not sealed, but not allowing much light.... and keep that in your grow room, that would keep it dry enough to dry/cure well... right?

if they are hanging in the dark, they should be ok, I dont know about a cardboard box, how big is the box, you want air circulation as well, this is when you will see mold, so you have to keep the humidity down, and air circulating
To cure, you want to put them in jars in the dark, and open the lids a couple times a day for a few weeks. So I dont think a box would work here either

Hello all,
I dry my buds in about 5 days...I just put the trimmed buds on a regular cookie sheet and direct a small fan that blow across the buds.
ABout 5 days later they are dry. Sadly, my weed does not get too much of a chance to cure because I usually do not have enough buds from last harvest.
It is only by next harvest do whats left of the last harvest is cured for 30-40 days.
At the moment I happen to have 50 days cure on a POG x SD gifted to me (thanks Spreading Seed). Excellent buds I think.
I am also smoking a seed crop I harvested about 2 weeks ago. Man, I had forgotten what seeded bud tastes like. Not to mention the loss of potentcy. I smoke the seeded buds mostly saving the better buds for the evening or even just a treat during the day.
Anyway I ramble.
