Actually, it's normal for older leaves to turn yellow, so you don't necessarily have a problem. Because you're feeding your plants Grow Big I really doubt that you're dealing with a nitrogen deficiency. (You definitely need to lower the lamp, though.)

Can you upload a pic?

I'm no expert, but I have experienced this too, and at first it looks like something is wrong, but soon, that leaf will shrivel up completely, and you'll go to look at it, and the entire stem will pop off like nothing. I would assume its the plants nature way of shedding old, dying matter. Thats my 2 cents.

only 3 weeks old though I doubt lower leaves should be dying now.., they only have like 3 or 4 sets of leaves..
as for the soil mix I got some Jungle growth from Lowes, no lime....
I have a bag of lime though.. how should I add it?? in the water??

dj,

It depends on what type of lime it is....Is it Pulverized(powdered) dolomite lime or hydrated lime???? When do you plan to transplant????LC

I plan on just growing them to about 1 1/2'or 2' before transplanting them to an out side spot I have with predug holes...
First time groing in soil indoors and outdoors..

hey dude so far those look pretty good :joint:

just to clarify, if your referring to the seed leaves (the first 2 rounded leaves) those commonly shrivel up and die, they are energy reserves for the first couple of days of the seeds life.
Your girls do look a little hungry I must say, how much of the FF grow have you been feeding, they look like they need some N.
Those pots seem fine for awhile, i usually like 1gallon of potting mix for every foot of reasonably bushy plant, a quick guideline.
That's some weird looking soil but it's probably fine, next time try a peat based mix they are richer in nutrients at the start which is maybe why it seems unusual to us that they be N deficient.

( Just what is says on the bottle, 1tspn per Gal.. Maybe it was the superthrive, it says one drop per gallon.. a lil more than that spilled out.. like 8 to 10 drops..lol)

(yea it has a bunch of stuff mix in, bought it at lowes... When I transplant should I add some earthworm castings? how about bat guano?? all that stuff is already in the Grow big, but should I also suppliment it whith the real things as well..??)
and as for the first 2 leaves, I know that, its not those.. its the close up pic... not a good pic, but the 2 longest leaves are yellow for tip to about half way

hate to say but it looks like nute uptake is inhibited by a ph issue from that soil...do you have a ph pen for soil or can you measure your runoff?

I think this could be it too. What kind of water are you using? Have you tested its' PH? You might need to switch to RO or use Ph up/down. You can pick up a cheap soil test kit at a gardening supply to see what your soil PH is.

Also if it's too cold in your growing room it can inhibit nutrient uptake. How are your temps?
