First time tent owner....In need of HELP !!!!

Can someone please tell me if a 400w Cool tube is overkill for a 32x32x63 grow tent ??? Been looking at some 400w HPS kits, but also looked at a SunSystem 250w All in One setup. Thanks

That is just fine, I have seen some growers run a 600 cool tube in a tent that size. If heat isn't an issue then it is just fine.

Well I will be using an online fan to draw heat away from the bulb, I just wanted to be sure that it wouldn't be too overwhelming for the plants in that size tent. Thank u

i had a 400 in a 2.5x3.5 box i built and had no problems with heat. i am using a 600 watt in a 4x4 and 2k in a 4x8 tent and i have a window unit in the room and the lights a are vented with a 540 cfm. runs like a dream. get a 600 with a dimmable ballast so you can turn it down if you want to. i still have my 400 and kicked myself in the ass after my first run with it, wish i would have went bigger.

how many are you doing?no matter what you get you need to get a good inline fan to cool it you can get a 600 dimable ballast and turn it down. i know money is tough but it will be worth it i wish i would have spent a little more for a 600 now i got a 400 sitting there.

i ran my 400 with 4 plants in 5 gallon buckets and got 4.5 ounces. im doing 3 gallon smart pots and they are the shit you should be fine go with a ceramic hood with the flat glass the curved glass of the cool tube refracts more light than the flat. get every bit of light possible.

have you considered bare-bulb vertical? ...you'd be surprised how easy it is to cool your space and you get to keep the cool-tube money in your pocket.

here's a couple links that might help, the first is a thread discussing the benefits of vertical growing and the second is to a grow in a space about the same as your tent but running a bare-bulb 600.

the short answer would be no, running 2k in a 4x8 would not be too much to cool.

...check out those 2 links i posted above and then go check out the vert subforum, ...there are many here breaking new ground with vertical grows and most would willingly advise you, i'm a relative noob to the topic still dialing in my own small grow so i'd rather not chance steering you wrong, ...better you should learn from guys using 2k or better.

400w hps/mh
4"inline with 4" carbon filter.
6"x 21" cool tube
fan speed controller.

FWIW i have issues keeping the temps up, no issues controlling high temps at all.
