Doing an Indoor soil grow, eventualy ill be using a room in the garage to finish veg/flow but atm i need more equip.

Do you think i have enough lightning atm for sufficient vegging? i paid 22 bucks for a t12 reflector + t12 6500k bulbx2 but was wondering how many more i could use. Ill be updating the soil and all other info periodicly.

I planted them on 4-11-12

I don't think it's possible to get sufficient light density using T12s for veg at all. If I were you, I'd switch to CFLs completely. They're very cheap and you can get 200W of 42W bulbs for like 50 bucks. Or just go all out and get an HID setup. You're gonna need ventilation and odor control eventually anyway, might as well get it now together with an HID setup and be set.

sweet ty, i TOTALY agree but atm i have very little funds therefor i am forced to buy parts over time... it took me forever to find a bulb at 6500k and it was florecent :/ iv been vegging the lights under 2700k spec for about 2 weeks now and i just bought my veg spectrum....

Now my next question, would using the florecents as side lighting help in any way? if so how many t12s would i need to be of some service, if at all any.

Any tips on florecent lighting? anyone else here used em?

And CFL's the ones i have, i litteraly have it plugged into a surge protector. If im gonna be using CFLS more what kind of cheap reflectors are there? and how many per plant?

I have about 200 seeds of Blueberry from Humbolt ca, Indica strain. Im basicly doing this with the help of my girlfriend and her father. smell is not to much of an issue due to the fact legally we are able to grow up to 18 MATURE plants at a time (like 48+ seedlings/clones) Im Litteraly starting this off household lights i found and made sure they were the right spectrum (i was wrong and they happen to be 2700k instead of 6500k)

TY!

I want to start a supreme system, eventually we are getting a few dual ballast 400w hps/mh systems... 135 for a complete system and 1 bulb :)

The more people who post the better, I WOULD LOVE TO GET 1 female to seed with and hopefully i can send some seeds out to some helpfulls :) this strain is legit, super heavy, almost like skunk #f1

so i did some research and it looks like t12 and t5 are completly diff bulbs.. even though i got the spectrum, are t5's considered better then t12s??? can i veg with t5's instead of t12's?

FINALY folks, i have bought a 600w magnettic dual ballast (hps/mh) with a plantmax 600w conversion mh lamp and a hortilux 600w HPS bulb!!! so excited to finally be growing some decent bud.

The plants seem to be taking in the new like like its a new holiday, from vegging under a 58w cfl 2700k spec, to a 7200k spec light.

ill put some pictures up after i get back from breakfast, but should i still use the 58w CFL 2700k light with the mh?

and can someone please explain to me WTF a MH conversion lamp is? i swear the guy who was trying to explain this to me was on something other then herbals > ha

Mh conversion is the blue light comming from a hps ballast wich is suposed to emmit a red color light but with the conversion it will come out lookin blue. That is what u want for your veg when u flip them to 12 12 ull want to fire up the hps bulb just remember to not touch the bulbs with ur bare hands. Slide a sock or something over it b4 u screw it in... hope it helped atleast a lil good luck with the girls and keep us posted with the results...

...to do this right you're gonna need 2 spaces, ...1 for flowering and 1 for everything else.

...which means if you want to use the MH conversion bulb for vegging then you're gonna need another ballast.

...also, i'm no expert but i believe the MH conversion bulb is a bulb manufactured to perform like a MH bulb but using a HPS ballast.

btw, being on a budget you need to be careful where you spend your money so study long and hard before throwing down, it's really easy to spend money on equipment that becomes useless as you gain skills.

...and here are a couple of threads that will help change everything for you, ...i know they changed everything for me but sadly for me it took me 2 years before i found either thread so READ them both, ...and pay attention to who says what because not everyone on these forums knows what they're talking about and you're the only one who can decide who to listen to and to emulate.

...NEVER take ANYONES word for anything, ...ALWAYS verify through your own research, ...believe me, anything you can think to ask has already been asked MANY times so checking answers is easy if you go digging.

THIS is the updated thread using coco as a superior medium to the original perlite/vermiculite mix detailed in the 'Official Hempy' thread.

...and fluoro's are a good place to start for any beginner because you don't need any special 'grow' fixtures, the bulbs are EVERYWHERE so easy as shit to find, they are versatile coming in several styles, wattages and Kelvin color spectrums, ...and they can be used aroung the house if you decide down the road that growing isn't for you or you upgrade to something else.

here's a couple shots of what many have done using cheap bathroom vanity fixtures (mine cost me under $5.00 each at a local discount builders supply), some splitters and some lower wattage bulbs, ...i personally use the 23 and 26watters making each fixture approx. 200watts.

...here i'm using one for a small seedrun in my closet.

...here's the poppa AK47 i used for that run just before i chopped him down.

...and a couple of the seeded buds, ...all grown under NOTHING but that CFL light bar.

...anyway, try to relax and not get too far ahead of yourself, ...too many new people try for too much when first starting out and get discouraged when things don't go as well as they'd hoped, ...many then give up entirely.

...if you study and apply those threads i linked you to they will simplify everything for you and give you the time you need to learn to read your plants.

peace, and stay safe, SOG

Hell yea, i appreciate the reply! made me feel happy that people do care, even though iv been a lurker for some time.

The reason why i have this 600w hps/mh ballast with all the extras was because i spent $200 for a complete package and was sold on that MH conversion bulb.

Im already planning on buying 1 more 600w system but now that i know what a MH conversion bulb does i can save a few more $ and get a hps ballast system.

I plan on using the space show for the vegging but what i didnt take a picture of was the space below. The ledge the plants are on now are sitting about 4 feet off the ground. When they are done vegging me and my dad are going to buy 1 more 600w sys and hook it up next to the other. put the vegging on the ground so it has more room under the hps ballast and was going to close off the vegging room.

Ultimatly i want to have it set up so the 2 rooms are seperate but when its time for lights on i wanted both rooms to get both light spectrums, and when its lights out i just close the screen and flowering is pitch black while my vegging is still going at 24/0

o yea btw im vegging at 24/0 and this batch has had 2 weeks of vegging under cfl flowering lights and to this day, 2 days of 24/0 MH 600w 7200k bulb. Ill be postin these pics later today after this little couchlock :)

I might even end up making that little light fixture you made, prolly use that for a constant mom under veg

Okay folks, heres some more pics!!! I ended up putting a t12 on the floor pointing up to get some underlight (not much) and i built alittle light thingy, now i just need a reflector for it :)

I need some help tho... Im using organic potting soil atm (edtnas best potting soil made in ca) but i want to start flowering soon and i fear this stuff i have not has too much N.

I was wondering if anyone here has used organic soil for flowering, with just using soil and water? INDOOR. like a Foxfarm mix of 1 parts OF, and 2 parts something else so i can just add water?

Or should i try and use the kiss method? Also i want to know if i should get some base for drainage and just use liquid nutes when i feed the plants?

BTW these suckers are about 5-6 weeks under veg(24/0), CHECK out the INTERNODING!! these suckers are sprouting sprouts on sprouts.. I have a few canooing leaves and it looks like i might have 1-2 burnt/dead leaves....

When i start to flower should i go straight to 12/12 or go to 20/4 first then 16/8 the following week?

So i posted earlier but i guess it didnt work? Here are some updated pictures

ALSO i need help! im doing soil but i need some new soil for my flowering stage....

Fox farm Ocean forest 1 parts and 2 parts something else? im trying to make it so all i basicly need to do is add water ( or use kiss method ) or if i have to what are some good nuts to use with a base soil?

Also im not in the area/money to be building my own soil... if theres like 3 bags of foxfarm i could buy ill get that to last me... i read somewhere that 1 parts FFOF and 2 parts FFTB works well for flowering?

any tips on soil? im trying to go for less managment possible. i want to beable to go down and talk to my plants and water them without having to deal with measurements to an extent. Im down to use liquid nuts but if i can id like to stay at just watering them. Any tips?

The plants look interesting since i put the cfls on them, now i have a 600w MH 7200k with a 4 bar cfl system with 3 13w cfl and 1 48w cfl, total of 87w for cfl 2700k , and i also have 1 t12 40w 6500k.

So total i have 720 some odd wats of lighthing,

1 600w MH 7200k (veg)
3 13w CFL 2700k
1 48w CFL 2700k
1 40w T12 6500k
1 600w HPS 2700k (flowering)

Right now i know for a fact the plants are needing some bigger pots. I had to put 2 plants in 1 pot because i was low on soil but today is payday :) and im going to go get some new shyt.

Question, do you think the plants i poted in 2's will be good if i kept em in the same pot when i transplant to the flowering pots? and if they are good should i get bigger pots for the 2 planted pots?

Sorry about askin soil questions so much but atm i am really nub with this organic growing. pretty much, this is my FIRST ever grow and im basicly building it as i go.
