First Time Grower Needs Guidance On Strain Selection

Hi guys I'm going to be growing in a DIY low pressure aero system/DWC (basically an aquamist See More Buds Vol. 1). My plants will be in close proximity to each other and branching needs to be kept to a minimum. I would like a strain that produces most of it's yield on the main cola so that i can remove the lower branches. Looking through seed boutique and the IC strain guide and BOG seeds stood out as a cash crop for newbies. I'm not stuck on them just a good example of what I need when it comes to bag value and flowering time.

Cash Cropping. Not the ideal way but when you live where I do not worth the risk unless your gonna make some money at it.

I don't think it matters. Pop the beans and sex them take the keepers and put them straight to 12/12 what you get is a big fat kola. see the pics, that's what I did to this one.:canabis:

Why so much soil?

@OP: You could look into various kush. In my experience, Bubba Kush grows fairly stocky with minimal stretching.

If I were you I'd go with Bogglegum by Bog.
It should be a very fast grower and bloomer, potent and main cola type of strain.

But you could make any indica do that - just flower it early and it wouldn't branch much.

From what I've seen most newbies better start with soil and not aeroponics.
You better learn how the plant grows and then start tweaking it.
If you haven't grown much before aeroponics requires a lot of maintenance and there's a lot of things that could go wrong.
With soil and some organic nutes you really don't need to do much.

Yes, aeroponics is faster and yields better.
Yet, most newbies don't manage to maximize their environment and as soil is much more forgiving you are likely to get a bigger yield with it.

Cannabis - thanks that the strain See More Buds uses in his video, I'm a little confused on which breeder sells the real thing tho, Dr. Atomics Blueberry x Northern Lights looked very appealing.

Pearleme - Ahhhh very nice, that would be perfect if i decide to make a unit with smaller net cups a little branching is o.k. very helpful tho

Fonzee - I guess i misrepresented with the "low pressure aero" the micron size is not even listen on the sprayers info so it might be just a hydro/DWC (Aquamist site calls it Aero and i used their sprinkler heads). The only thing that can really go wrong for me is the pump failing. The reason i chose hydro over soil because I will be able to maximize the space, I am willing to pay high initial costs for later returns, and wonderful sites like IC mag are teaching me enough to be confident i can get it right.

I don't think that the Fonz meant that just aero is less forgiving but rather any soiless hydro style.

Some new growers get lucky with hydro for the first few crops and learn how mj grows that way, but it's a gamble.

Maybe even coco would be a good choice to start with. It is hydro in that you supply all the nutes with the water but is more forgiving (not a whole lot) than "mediumless" like dwc, uc, aero, nft....

Up to you though and good luck whatever you decide.
PEACE

You also need to constantly measure your EC and pH to fit your plants needs.
To know your plants needs you need some experience.

Not trying to hijack your thread but someone told me new growers need to stay away from OG's.Does anyone care to share why?

Most new growers just want confirmation on somethin they read or saw on-line. When it comes time to do the work they find out it's work!! A 90% failure rate is common in new growers. Find the ones with the"feel' and I'll teach them all I can.
OP? don't let m scare you off water even though all they said was true. 'Don't play in the mud indoors' momma said. Good Luck

Hey Mud i love your optomism but the fonz is dead nuts rite. This is a great site and you can get almost anything off it, except experience. The most important thing!!!! Read through all the hydro threads you can before you do a few runs of some unhealthy crappy runs. Always keep that ph in check when using hydro as a medium.
There are all kinds of awesome strains that would give you "colas" like your after, im partial to Kush strains. Good luck, curious how this cherry gets popped!
Aim for healthy plants to start, with health comes yeild
