First time grow, stealth closet, need help.

Those pix are some rough 3d studio max drawings i made to decribe this best. The red translucent box in the left of the closet represent's used space. I believe it's an electrical meter of some sort, Not a problem though because it never get's checked.

The shelf is 5 feet from the ground and a foot and 3/4 from the ceiling. If needed I could easily modify the shelf to sit higher.

K, I'm thinking 400w DWC with only aircooling on the light hood hopefully.

The closets door is goofy and slides open on a track. It has little wooden blinds on the top half of it, which makes me believe I'll have good enough airflow already. I'll just use black poly for sealing light leaks.

I'll cover the inside walls with mylar and white poly on the floor naturally. I'm undecided on whether to use 5 gallon buckets or a a big rubbermaid rouchneck tub and hang netpots from a modified lid. I can only get 2, 5 gallon buckets in 2feet x 4feet of space. I'm considering using many smaller bubbler buckets though if I have to.

Since I don't have much space I can't make a recircluating DWC but life's not always fair.

4ftx2ftx7ft = 56 square ft. I hope a 400 watt won't make that too warm. Although I've seen people cram 1000 watt's into a cab, granted it was cooled but maybe this will pass.
Smell is not a concern for me either.

Top area of the closet would therefor be my clone and vegging area, under some flouro's.

Looks like you're on the road to a good grow. Consider these things. I'm using a closet that is exactly the same dimensions as yours, and I moved my shelf out of the room to get good height, and can fit 3 5 gallon buckets easily. Those buckets are only 12 inches at the widest part. I run a 600 w HPS aircooled in my closet with a 175 cfm fan. The temps never rise over 75 and all is well. You can just remove the pullstring light in the ceiling and replace it with ducting from the AC hood going into the fan in your attic. That is, if you have an attic. If not, I would remove your door completely and replace it with a tarp staplegunned and ducttaped to the doorframe, then add a zipper to the tarp (I'd do this either way, attic or not) and would run the exhaust out of a hole in the top right hand side of the tarp. Intake can be at the bottom. Take a look at my grow diary in my sig, and you'll see how to do it! Then you can just hang a tapestry or something over the whole lot and no one will know a closet is even there... trust me! I hope you can glean something from my experience. BTW, watch out how long you veg the girls, they will take over that closet like none other!!

Yo sogman, great pics and you'll be able to get a nice harvest in there. I once used a 400W AC in a closet and found I definitely had to vent the exhaust outside the closet or it just got too hot in there.

Thanks Purp, well at least I'll be prepared to vent that light out of the closet. Tis not the end of the world but not too good if I can't find a nice quiet inline fan to do that.
