First time Grow need some advise

Ok all, this my first grow, and everything has been smooth so far until now. My seedlings are about 5 or 6 inches tall and some of them are growing strait up but others are leaning horizontal but the leaves are facing up and seems that they are top heavy or the stems can support the top section. Is this a bad sign? should I tie them up? They get natural sunlight for about 10 hours a day then they go under artificial light for the last 8 or 9 hours.

Hoping that these aren't going to croak!!:tumbleweed:

How old are the plants? How many leaf sets are on each plant? It sounds like they aren't getting enough light. What kind of artificial lights are you using and how far are the lights from the plants? We need a little more information.

There about 2 full weeks old I think....... But They are under 3 150 watt CFL's and are about 5 to 6" tall. They have there starter leaves plus one set. The third set is starting to sprout but are small. they are on a 18/6 cycle. I do put them in the window to get the natural sunlight and breeze at times. Some plants are sticking strait up at the lights others looking top heavy are very green and growing but are just laying over as if they cant support the weight of the top? Strange? Why some and not others?

Are they within 3 or 4 inches of the lights? At 5" or 6" with one set of real leaves, it seems like they are stretching for the light.

Here's a pic. See the plants laying down but growing up.

They need more light. How far are the tops of the plants from the bulbs?
They are about 3 to 4 inches away. How tall should they be in order to put them into bigger pots? Maybe they need more soil or space to spread there roots in? There only in
5"X5"X5" peat pots.

They look too young to transplant to me. I would just add more soil to your current containers.Add new soil to just under the two small round leaves. If the plants are way too tall you can gently bend them over and curve them around to center them in your container. The stems that you cover will grow new roots.

If your still using that halogen bulb from your other post, I would get rid of it. The 150 watt bulbs look like they use more 45 watts. Go by the number of watts actually used instead of the watts they say it puts out.Buy a few more cfls and stop putting them in the window. Keep the lights lowand you should be alright.

^ Good advice from tube dude. They aren't getting enough light, and the issue is probably that the light through the window isn't intense enough. Get more CFLs and you can add more soil to the pots so that it is supporting the stems. They should be further along for two weeks. Height doesn't matter as much as development, and yours look like they're four days old (just very stretched out from low light).
