First Time Cloning-coco or rockwool?

T

Hey Guys, need help! I have two indica-dom. bagseed motherplants that are thriving well. Id love to replicate them and try to keep the strain going.

Currently, I have a set up of 150w hps and a single t5 strip for the mothers. Coco coir set up, to eventually flower in 400w. My question is, do I use leftover rockwool sitting around from a failed aero run? Or do I put these babies straight into the medium they will be for the remainder of their lives?

Appreciate it! Hopefully throwing them in the flower box right after they root or a short week veg.

P.S. I love IC Mag so much, this is my first post, so glad I joined. Much more informative :dance013:

I would say coco is easier. When I first started out cloning I had a very low success rate until I switched to coco, where I now get almost 100%. My method is pretty easy.

1. Cut clone. Make sure its sterile, etc.
2. dip in water, leave to soak for a sec while i cut others
3. cut off extra leaves / shave nodes that will be submerged
4. dip stem into cloning solution
5. insert in coco cup...Rocket science!

Coco is very easy. In low humidity situations you can cover the clone with either clear plastic wrap or a clear plastic cup. Poke a few holes for air and just mist the inside when it gets dry.

Low humidity will kill clones fast or make them take forever to root.

Thanks guys! I just went out and bought some clear plastic cups! I plan to clone 4 every two weeks in hopes of setting up a Perpetual SOG. Gracias! also, hit me up to dole out any advice you have, I need a mentor LOL!

get an opaque cup to put that clear one in, clear is fine but can lead to root issues if there is lots of light hittin it (algae etc). Cheap fix :smoke:
