First run of Ace Seeds in soil

After a long period of personal instability, i am able to settle down and stay home for a while.

2 projects in mind

Zameldica

Panama

Both from seeds ordered thru Aceseeds.org

My plan was to use the best quality soil i can get
Locally. In my area it will have to be one of the commercial
Name brands. Happy Frog or Fox Farm.
I was going to add extra perlite.

I have plenty of organic NFTG nutrients, the makings
For simple microbe tea.

Starting seeds tonight in a light broth of seaweed extract
Then the paper towel treatment.
Next ill start them in Rapid Rooter plugs. Then into soil.
I have a pair of grow boxes. 1 for each strain.

Comments appreciated.

Hi Levitationofme,

You made 2 solid choices for your 2nd ACE grow.

I'm not familiarized with your local soil brands, but i have been growing with more or less the same soil organic mix for the past 15 years: about 70-80 % of high quality peat (organically rich, spongy, with good aireation) from Northern Europe, 10-15 % of worm casting (more or less depending on the feeding requeriments and development stage of the strain/plant), a bit of guano in powder (about a handful per 7 liters of mixture), and in case the mix is too compact you can add a bit of coco fiber or perlite, although if that's the case i prefer to use coco fiber, perlite is toxic to manipulate if you breathe it.

Panama works very well with a rich soil mix, Zamaldelica works better with a softer mix, especially regarding Nitrogen.

Let us know if you have any doubt during their development, happy growing!
