First Pro Build

Hey all, this is my first time building and I am setting up a single plant chamber and I am making all aspects of the box controllable (CO2, light, humidity, temp) I was hoping to gain some insight from experienced people here on lighting. Here are my thoughts and what I have planned so far,. I would love any and all input.

-I plan to build the box with a growth chamber that measures 3x3x4or5. All surfaces will be lined with mirrors with the bulbs in front to maximize lighting from a minimal source. I plan to grow the plant vertically and scrog it like a candy cane spiraling upwards. The plant will sit on a rotating surface and the plant will constantly rotate in the chamber to prevent any directional growth and to allow shadows to shift and allow all surfaces to receive light.

Please do not comment on logistics as I know what I am doing. I just need input on whats out there and if giving a full spectrum from start to finish is just as good as swapping spectrum into flower? My goal is to produce the most potent plant possible. Heat will be an issue so I am looking for something fluorescent or LED to help manage temps. Also, the reflective surfaces, would it be best to diffuse the light or to actually use a straight mirror?

I could use links to resources, comments, anything! Please help direct my research in the right direction!

hi dude, cfl's are great in that space, led's are expensive but less heat, mirrors I understand are useless, they absorb the light, I have a space the same dimensions as yours, I have it painted with white matt emulsion paint, my first grow, plants are thriving, goodluck.

Forget about mirrors, they are inefficient at reflecting light. Either paint your box flat white (FLAT white! Not matte or gloss) or use mylar. Flat white is slightly less efficient than mylar, but its easier to clean between grows and easier to put on (unless you invest in mylar sheets made for growing purposes).

Maybe consider building a cool tube to help vent the heat from your lights, which ever you decide to use. A cool tube would probably even give you enough temp control to use HPS/MH lighting.

Going to be honest now, I don't really see a reason to rotate the plant automatically if you are going to be vert scrogging the plant, but it will probably look cool as hell :)
