First PC grow, too bushy? what's wrong?

I'm growing inside a server case with a DWC system using rockwool and hydroton. Using General Hydroponics Flora Series now at 5ml of each part to a gallon of a distilled water pH is around 5.8-6. Using 2 full spectrum 24 watt CFLs (100watt equiv) 24/7 lighting schedule. Seed is bagseed, but at least out of a good bag. Plant has been growing strong but is incredibly bushy. Had a small heat problem and leaves started having yellow spots and a few holes. Remedied the heat problem but its still incredibly bushy. enough ramble, here's a few pictures.

PC Case:

Day 15

Day 16

Day 18

Day 19

This is on day 19. I know bushy is generally what we want in a micro grow but the plant seems to be too bushy where leaves are on top of leaves on top of leaves. There is approximately 5 layers of leaves on top of each other in this small 5 inch plant.

Any suggestions? any help much appreciated.

Bushy is what you want dude when growing only one plant. personally i would top that bitch and tie her down to fill the space. here is an example what you can do when you only got 3 plants to fill your bloom-cab:

I topped them and tied down the shoots to fill the space vertically. It takes a little bit longer time but if you grow for personal use that is, in my oppinion, the way to go!!!

Hey DS, Icetoker has the right idea. You want to train that one plant so you can get the most out of it. I would top it, let it grow top it again then start bending it over to fill the space horizontally, then let it grow vertically from there. Best advice is to keep the canopy even so that light penetrates all the bud sites and you'll end up with a decent yield off that single plant.

Good luck man..

It is a Deep Water Culture system. The roots are all very long and healthy and are all branching out. There is a good inch or two between the hydroton and top of the water but the rockwool is staying fairly moist, not saturated though. I don't know if that would constitute overwatering or not.

Was the light off when you took those pics? If not I think they do look a little droopy. Considering the way you described the growth I guess its no biggie?

Lights were on. I'm thinking the leaves stay droopy because EVERYTHING (powerstrip, air pump, DC converter, resevoir, light socket, etc.) in our case is covered in reflective tape so they won't really need to point up to get light cuz its coming from every direction.

I still think it looks overwatered. What kind of ventalation do you have? Is there a good amount of fresh air getting in that cab?

in speaking with his partner jimh4lpert, i determined that the droopyness is from misting her 3x a day. so i guess it was a case of foliar overwatering, if thats possible?

Dont mist them! I have never seen that happen before from misting but I have never sprayed my plants cause I think its not neccesary unless your correcting a nute def. I guess that would overwater them considering the roots are getting plenty of water.

i told them to stop and they said they will, and haze toker im right with you on them being overwatered, it just took a min to find the cause :D
