my best advice is patience

there are shoots growing out below the node you cut in the last pic

enjoy the learning process, cuz it ain't never gonna end :)

Is the water within an inch of the bottom of the baskets with that few gallons in the tub?
A small air gap is good, but the roots should be mostly submerged in DWC. How many air stones are in the tub, I only see one line going in? You probably need more aeration in there - the volume is at least double the buckets.

It appears you have indica plants growing from the wide leaves and short stature, they take their time to get tall, but seem to be going slow for being a month old. Unless the guy who grew the bag your seed came from pipes up, there is not much more that you are going to find out about the genetics.
How much light are they getting - watts & type? It looks like you are running CFL's or fluoro.

Don't lollipop them until they have grown a good bit more, you can wait until the flip or even a couple weeks after to remove the lower growth.

Sour 60 under 400w hps was 22"+ at a month old, but she showed some sativa traits.
60 days from germ when cut, she was 27" tall with just over an ounce of manicured bud and a good bit of popcorn and trim from a plant in a 3 gal bucket. They love light, airy water, and food.

prior to today there was a 10" gap between the water and the bottom of the netis... with the fresh batch of nutes the distance is more like 1-2"... there is only one airstone in the tub but it is on its own pump and the stone is double the size of the ones in the buckets, ill grab another from the store tomorrow
high man, personally, i'd have recommended you learn your chops playing in the dirt as growing hydroponically can be very unforgiving.

that being said your plants look healthy so you are on the right track.

anyway, like kannubis said, you probably want more oxygen and i'd recommend you upgrade to a quality pump rather than buying any more of the smaller ones, below i've posted a link to one that while a bit expensive, will deliver all the air you'll need for the foreseeable future.

Air-Pump

good luck man and don't sweat the small shit too much, mj is a weed so pretty damned hardy.

peace, and stay safe, SOG

Hiya SOG - long time no path crossing. Getting ready to start the real plants for the yard soon. I'll hit the other site when I have some pics worthy of tossing out there.

Autos aren't worth cloning, they don't have a photoperiod type veg cycle. They will tell you by 3-4 weeks from germ if they are boys or girls in my experience. Sour 60 works okay for my fixed disk neck pain, sort of a muscle relaxing effect - lets me think about something other than pain.

Move the light lower - to where you can hold your hand at canopy level without getting uncomfortable for ten seconds to get more oomph to the plants.

Sometime ya gotta push it too far so you know when to back off. The great thing about a small first run, is that you are so much happier the next one, and the next one...

Research is good, but experience grows on ya! You'll get it working.

hmm interesting that you mention sour60 as i was just reading up on them and they will likely be my next purchase although i havent looked into autoflowering all that much, ive just been researching quick flowering strains so i can enjoy a different flavor every few months... let me ask you with the sour60 -- is it worth keeping a mother or difficult/not worth cloning? i take it that they are NOT fem'd strain?

the current setup has a 7500k 400w mh about 2' up and 125wcfl most 6500k and 30w of blue cfl (above the dome, i think it is too far from the older ladies to really have much of an effect)... i have a 1000w hps waiting in the wings but these midgets arent going to need that much at all if they dont start showing some growth

strange... ive really done alot of research and kept conditions perfect -- the ladies have shown virtually no signs of stress since the beginning. any clue?

thanks for the quick responses! :joint:
i'd recommend you add some red light to your mix, all blue light is why your plants are so short, adding some red will give you some stretch.

btw, mj evolved to receive both red and blue light throughout it's lifecycle, just in different ratios during different seasons, more blue light in the spring and more red in the fall.

...so a good rule of thumb is a 3 to 1 ratio, blue to red, in veg and simply reversed to a 1 to 3 ratio, blue to red in flower.

peace, SOG

One tote might not be big enough. I tried to run 4 in a 3 gallon, but there was only room for one. You would only be able to do 2 right in a single 10 gallon tote.

HPS from the get go works better for me than MH for veg. It has the red needed for longer internodes.

Sounds like lack of oxygen to the roots. As an emergency fix, pull out 3 gallons of the nute solution until you get more bubbles going in there. It worked better up until you filled it more from the sound of what is going on.
