First indoor stealth grow

Hi mates!

I'm about to start my first grow. It is going to be a stealth grow, I have 40cmx40cmx max 60cm of height available to build a grow box. Yeah, pretty cramped alright. Also I've ordered a 70W HPS, that seems to be enough for such a small area. Oh, and I'm going to grow in soil.

Ok so the questions:

- I have three types of seeds at home, Super Silver Haze fem, Lowryder #2 fem and Early Pearl reg. Which of these three should I grow? I think the Early pearl is out of question here. However, Iove got these two ides in my mind: 1. Either one SSH plant in scrog method or 2. maybe 2-3 lowryders #2 in LST or scrog (dunno which one would be better). What do you suggest?

- What should be the height of the grow box? It can be max 60cm tall, but I'd prefed it being lower, if possible.

- How long is a regular strain (non-autoflower) kept under 18/6 for vegging, before you go 12/12 and put it to flower? Or is it with scrog method different procedure?

being that this is your 1st grow, I would strongly suggest going a simple as possible just till you feel comfortable in your grow area. This might take 2-3 grows till you dial it in. I hate to say this cause I'm not a big fan of autofower, but the Lowryder might be your best bet. they will be much easier to control in that small space since they wont grow to be very big normally. Since you know they are female you can max your space with plants without worrying about removing males. And since they are autoflowering, you wont need to really worry about the photoperiod. The Early Pearl would be my 2nd choice cause there will be a little downtime worrying about the males. IMO your space is too small to grow such a pure sativa like haze, even in a scrog. Not saying its impossible, just might be really hard for a 1st time grower.
As far as the hight of the box, I would use as much of that 60cm as you can. Personally I find it hard to flower in any space that is smaller than 1m. Your containers are gunna take a fair amount of your headroom and even that 70w is going to need a about 10cm +/- of space from the plants or they will burn or get light bleached. (yes this can happen I have seen it)
As far as vegging goes, generally one would veg there plants till they reach 50% of the size you want them to be. For scrog, one would veg till 70-85% of there screen is filled
Also something to think about is air flow. Even with a 70w you are going to need a little bit of ventilation. A couple of PC fans would work, a small one on the floor blowing in, and a larger one on the ceiling blowing out

Thanks for the reply. About ventilation, yes, that thing's sorted out then I'll probably start with lowryder(s). It's not possible to scrog it right, as one has to top it a bit first for scrog and they have no veg? Should I just LTS them/it then? Oh yes, and do you think I should be growing only one in this place, or should I be able to cram two, maybe three of these little plants in there?

I'm with Hemp, use as much of the 60cm as you can. I've read a lot of grow threads and can't recall anyone ever lamenting having a cab that was too large.

I've never worked with an autoflowering plant, but I would think that scrog wouldnt work very well cause there is really no veg time. LST would be the next best choice as far as training goes. As far as plant count, 2 would be optimal ithink for a 1st timer. Lots of plants in a small space can be very difficult to keep growing well. Dont be afraid to removes leaves that are covering budsites. The plants will replace the ones you remove, just do it little at a time and you will be fine.

main reason ops are found:

1. talking about the grow
2. strong smell
3. loud fan noises
4. growing related garbage
5. power consumption (more for major grows)
6. random guests

the 1st 3 are easy to fix and should be always addressed IMO. the last 3 are more situational and cant really be 100% address, but with proper planning most of the risk can be avoided.... most

I don't know how anyone can grow in that kind of space, but people do. Have a look at some of the Micro Grow threads and very good luck to you.

I like some of these micro grows.

Hehe yeah, its just for personal use. I dont really smoke a lot, but still I wanna grow my own.
By the way, if people grow in a friggin mini ATX computer case, I can grow in that space


although, I DO have a server pc case lying around... hmmm...
