First I scare you, then I calm you.....

Most power companies near me will give usage info out to ANYONE, with a SIMPLE phone call. It goes something like this....

"Hi my name is Johnny appleseed, I'm going to be leasing a flat at 420 main st & wanted to know how much the electric was for the last 4 quarters"

They won't give you last month, or specific months, but they will give it up over segments.

OK, now to make you feel better........ plenty of people have ELECTRIC HEAT. Some people can't afford FUEL so they turn there oven on all day. Some people have 5 a/c's an run them on max all day. Some people really do have pottery hobbies, or whatever. If your not stealing or requiring a service guy to deal with line or transformer issues nobody gives a fuck. & if you don't pay it they don't give a fuck either, all this shlt about always paying your bill on time is bogus.

no tell, no smell, no sell = no cell.

Around here they have what they call covert search warrants and to execute them leo is allowed to impersonate people like electricity company employees etc.
So you never know who you could be letting into your house.

But my electric bills have a column where they show you how your electricity consumption compares to other houses in the area.
Mine is usually lower then other houses in the area even if I'm running a light, so legit houses do use up a lot of electricity.

Just watch out for phone calls purporting to be from a rival electric company asking and how much was your last electricity bill?

My biggest problem, because my indoor is just now and again, not full time, that my bills jump all around the place, and that would be harder to explain than all your bills being around the same amount.
