They now enter in week 3, day 17 since it germinate, and i've some doubts
watchplant.gif
. One already "show your sex" and he's a boy. Is it normal to "show sex" just in the final of second week? Do you think this is a good pheno which do i've stay with?

Sorry if have some english errors thats not my language. And all help will be appreciated. Thanks everybody :thank you:. And let's grow

First grow with Durban Poison

Hello fellas,

Luckily the other plant looks like a female ! [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

I still think to early for this plants "show sex" because i don't put them in a 12/12. They are in 14/11. And in the week 3 from the seed.
thinking.gif

But maybe because i'm changing the place, 5 hours in a window with direct sun and the other 9 hours in a "wood cabinet" indoor with LED accelerate the process. Is that possible?

Sugestions, opinions, advices would be appriciated.

Are u saying that male plant is 3 weeks from seed with all those pollen sacks ? And 14/11 will flower plants . the flower period needs to be at least 15/16 hours of light at minimum to stay in veg

Ya 14 hrs of light will still trigger them. Why don't you have them on longer light schedule?
Or are you trying to keep them small? I am also running some durban poison from dp.
Good luck with your grow.
Peace GG

That's what i'm saying my friend soserthc. I never growed cannabis before. Just "normal" plants, fruits, spices and flowers... I read in some place i could put the plants in 14/11 to simulate the tropicals weather. Because here in my city we never have 15/16 hours of sun, the maximum is 14 hours in summer. So i decide to simulate my summer and after that change to 12/12. But the plants "showed sex" to early in my opinion, because both of them are in week 3, exaclty day 20 the male, and day 18 the female, from the seed.

We're in the winter now here in my city but even in the winter the sun is strong so i decide to put the plants some hours in the direct sun 5 hours each that is what i'have in my window.
Do you think this isn't a good idea?

Hi Gorilla, in fact i was planning, and trying, to reproduce my tropical summer 14/11 for 1 month and after that change to 12/12. But also i don't have a lot space when they are indoor. My wood cabinet is very small just 70cm. And i was planning to do a LST in this plants. Do you think i've to change pot now for a biggest one, and start to do a LST?

Thanks for reply and good luck with your grow too. Peace.

I'm not sure on pot size. I have never grown in a small space like that. There is lots of information on here on micro grows. I don't think putting them in sun light is bad as long as it is strong light. I would put reflective material or paint the sides of your cabinet white to get more light on the plants. Also there is no need to replicate your daylight hours outside unless they are going to go outside. But they will stretch even when starting flower so they will probably fill that small cabinet anyway.
Cheers GG

you def want to separate the male as soon as both plants are displaying, otherwise you'll be growing seeds.

you can grow a lot of weed in that space. the male you can store some pollen from, it doesn't need luxury. if you've got one female plant, i say get the biggest bucket you can that will fit in that space. bump the lights up to 18 or 20 or something.. throw in some side lighting when there's some foliage to take it.... source some perlite and use a bunch of it in your mix.. roots grow fast.. prepare to train, you're running out of headroom from the time it pops :)

ventilation?

Thanks for the advices GG. Don't you think the paint smell can be bad for the plant now?

give the a couple more hours of light a day. Don't worry, you've got plenty of room in that cab.

Thanks Paper Thorn, I will

Thanks for the advices Waveguide.
Today i separated the couple
biggrin.gif
The male was opening his sacks. I let him in the window and let see how he'll stay.
I'll bump the lights to 16/18 because the theory of 14/11 to simulate the tropicals doesn't work hahaha... And this weekend i'll find a new, and big, pot for the lonely female [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

For the ventilation now i've one pc fan 80mm to pull out the hot air. The air enter under the door. But i'll but another one for pull in when the space will be very full.

I not sure yet if i let the female in the window when i'll change to 12/12 because she doesn't smell so strong, but i've some fear about neighbors when they grow

Don't under estimate how effective pollen can be ...it will get everywhere and into everything, assuming you are keeping the male to breed,
take the pollen now or at least soon and can store in the fridge in rice ...as pollen is wiped out with water..!

Keep it up man, just keep track of what you're doing and improve on it next time. The only way to fail is not to try.

Hi [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]ReikoX, thanks for your support.

I think she's lacking some nutrients now. Maybe is Phosphorus. What do you guys think?

Tomorrow i'll change her from pot to an bigger and put some "bone flour" to increase the phosphorus. Start training and let her inside of my window, just 12/12 natural daylight and let's see what happening.

Yes pot up in soil amended with bone meal, there is nitrogen in bone meal too, which she looks like she needs!

The leaves are more "ugly" but the good news is growing new leaves in the old "ugly" nodes.
It's early to say but i believe she have a sativa phenotype.
What do you guys think?

Just a thought for you. You could keep a female mother under 24 and take tiny clones put outdoors in small pots and they will flower year round in your climate. And stay small enough to go unnoticed in a small flower garden.

as you are in the 'Tropicals' look to beefing up your strain selection by growing many sativas, Mexican. Thai, and south American abound, you have the weather and climate ...but have you the room..?

ps avoid growing at the window in the tropics, as they may only get the sun in morning and later afternoon, as the sun is directly overhead most the day, in which case the plants are better outside, perhaps with vertical blinds for protection/concealment ...? (imo)

good luck

hi tistou :tiphat:
it´s important to read about photoperiod to maintain a good perpetual
ansiety normally is the biggest problem in the begining, so try to keep the light schedule with no big changes and planning the next move carefully. IMHO things like bone meal works better while mixing in your soil and let it cook for a month or so.
To this plant, understanding that is no other better choice, i think replant to a good bagged soil mix with perlite, a good and smooth fertilization could improve the bloom.
try understand the plant dinamics and plan your run, and let the things flow!
i´ll be watching, best vibes!
