First grow, starting to flower under 18/6?

Hey guys, I've been vegging my girl (hopefully) for about 2 months, she's gotten nice and tall and has some nice secondary shoots that I hope will produce a nice yield...

Now, I checked her this morning to find what look like white hairs and small flowers in some of the nodes. I tried my best to get a good shot, here is the hair (click HERE for larger size):

Now, I really don't want to get my hopes up... But this seems to mean it's a female...? These seeds are from a buddy of a buddy of mine. At first I thought these hairs+flowers might mean "auto-flowering", but after some research it looks like auto-flowering plants usually do not get very tall and sex very quickly... So that's out!

Some other reading I was doing suggested this might be "pre-flowering"? Does this mean I should switch to 12/12?

Any help would be much loved. :]

You should flip your light to 12/12. 8weeks is well enough for veg. She/she-he will strech 2-3time in height. Also the male flowers are probably from some kind of stress. Try and keep your light between 1-2ft. from the top of her, and keep your temp. between 76-78 and now lower than 50-55 at night. You should be good

OK, so I've been doing some research, and it looks like I do have a she-male! Seeing as these seeds were (presumably) not feminized, this is most likely stress related as has been said previously.

This leads me to a new question: If my box has no light leaks, what other kinds of stress could have caused this hermi behaviour? The night before I noticed the pistils & what appear to be ballsacks, I did a bit of heavy trimming to get her back into shape. Did I simply go too far in one session?

If this is the case, will continuing to veg for a while before flipping to 12/12 help "calm" her down?

Ah, from the reading I was doing (internet, lol) it seemed to suggest that herm's were most common with feminized seeds, then not uncommon was stress-related forced-herm, and less common was a straight up herm from birth. As most of this was just "word of mouth" type stuff, you're probably right.

Anyway, if it is a straight herm with no way to fix it, can the female parts still be flowered, cured and enjoyed? I'm leaning towards "yes" just based on gut feeling and what was said in a previous post.

I switched herm over to 12/12 yesterday, and put in some lower-K valued CFLs... Here's hoping something turns out.

It's always possible you but, it's just as possible you didn't takes a lot of light stress to flip a plant. Sex change is a self defense mechanism built in thousands of years ago. Not so common as to be expected but, too common to be surprised (though we're certainly entitled to feel )

Properly quarantined, you can grow and smoke it, it just won't be sinsimilla and thus, less potent.

also with herms the earlier on they herm the greater the chance that your crop will be more full of seeds and male flowers then if it herms a week or 2 at the end.. herms are no fun . the ruin them selfs and everything they can get there hands on lol
