First grow in New Room....SFV OG 1,000W

Well, Im new here to ICMAG and since my room and grow just began I figured it was a perfect time to start a journal.

Specs:
4x8x7 Grow Tent
1,000w HPS hortilux (veg and flower)
400 cfm inline fan cooling light
400 cfm inline fan exhuasting hot air
1 oscilating fan
2 stationary fans
in/out - hi/lo : Temp/hygro
6x3 table w/ drainage
10-15 gal Res
Happy Frog soil w/ oyster shell, bat guano, *heavy harvest, and green sand layered/mixed in.
*in addition to the organics I will be using Advanced Nutes; Grow, Micro, Bloom
Air Pots

ladies:
15 sfv og clones
1 fem white rhino seedling (wasn't supposed to be apart of this grow...it was given to me by a friend in need)

I am having a hard time getting my photo's to upload...as soon as I get it working I will have pictures of the room and the ladies. They have been in veg for 4 days. *with the exception of the WR, she was popped very early and didnt have proper care...she is catching up tho

Looking forward to this grow, and any and all comments/ideas you all may have!

Not to much going on to update yet. EXCEPT...I picked up a Papaya clone from my work the other day. She has been in the tent for three days now. I plan on vegging and topping her while in the tent and then transplanting her into a 10gal smart pot and putting her outside!

As for the SFV they have been in veg for 1 week today. Watering by hand every other day. They have easily doubled in size in the past week alone!

I been working tons lately so havent been spending as much time with the ladies as I would like. However last night I was able to give them some needed TLC.

Removed the fan leaves from the lower 2-3 in of all plants, with the exception of the Papaya and the White Rhino (which is slowly becoming my favorite)

Gave them their first feeding.

I also topped the four tallest plants.

Didnt get a chance to snap any new pics but when i get home tonight I will for sure. Planning on watering them with a mild bat guano tea tonight as well. The tallest SFV is 11inches. The White Rhino is only about 7 inches tall but she is STACKED

They are still on 24hrs of light. Waiting for the roots to pop out and I will transplant into 2gal Airpots.

I think thats about it for now. I welcome any and all comments/questions/suggestions

Thanks Cody, its taken awhile to get my room here...lots of trials and tribulations!!! Never grown the SFV or even smoked it for that matter. I just got an EXCELLENT deal on the clones!!

SFV is a damn good strain to have...if you are gonna run 15 under a 1kw i would recomend a nice veg, you arent gonna hit a LB with only 15 unless you do some serious training....my friend literally just ran 15 SFV OGs in 1 gal pots in a 4x4 under a 1k and only got 14 oz, while he hit 1.3 a light with his purps same method....i run 25 or so in 2 gal pots and get 1.5 cramped in per 4x5 (two 2.5x4 trays weird setup), in a regular 4x4 you can cram 20...but im anticipating my biggest yeild yet with nine 3 footers per 1kw..veg'd a good month and a half and trained into tomato cages...

those clones are tiny, with the way SFV grows i suggest at least a 1 month veg if you want to pull any serious weight, to grow SFV commercially you need a decent veg room to veg a batch while one is in flower...if you flower those any sooner you are wasting your electrical usage..honestly those ladies dont even need a 1kw right now you can veg those out to proper length under a 400w....hope you are on CARE if your in nor cal..

clean those cords up too...zipties work wonders with electrical organization. having those exposed wires near your res is bad..

also confused here...your screen name suggests your female yet everyone is calling you man and bro...either way good luck, SFV is my staple but she requires some extra care to grow..

Yes4Prop215: Are you sure being on CARE for PG&E is all that smart? Does the federal government not subsidize cost of g&e for low income participants?

CARE is smart if you want to save money lol...standard california rates for power are about 200-250 a month for a 1kw bulb running 12/12....

i checked my last bill, and if i didnt have care my rates would have been 800 a month...with care i only pay 250 for my 4kw room + extras..

i dont know if its the federal government subsidizing...all i know is, if you make less than 33k a year and you are single, you qualify. if as a family you make less than 37k a year you qualify....my taxes show i only made like 24k a year so i was eligible...if i didnt have CARE growing would be a lot less appealing...my friend pays almost 2k a month to run his 10kw grow, and LB prices are down 500 a unit so hes not doing as good as he was a few years ago..


ive never heard of anyone getting busted using CARE, i know cats who run a 30 light warehouse on CARE somehow, straight dirtbags lol...as long as you pay your bill you are good. every house has a smartmeter anyways and tons of folks in my neighborhood are section 8 and most definately on CARE too...

Yes im very excited about the SFV, wasn't what I originally wanted but I got a great deal and couldnt pass up those genetics. Was planning on vegging for a full month. I have already topped the main colas and plan on putting a screen in. They will be transplanted into 2gal air pots within the next week.

I won't be sticking with SFV for the next round. I am planning to take clones from the White Rhino and veg them in my other room to replace the sfvs. They may not need the 1k right now but they are enjoying it for sure. I am on CARE actually
