I am finally back in a place that i feel comfortable running a small garden. I have not grown indoors for about 5 or 6 years and i wanted to run threw my equipment and see what everyone thinks and if anyone had helpful info to someone new to growing in a tent and probably a little rusty. This site has been helping me out since the overgrow days. Glad to be back and hope i can contribute as much as possible.
I could not build a room like the grew in before. The land lord is a good ol boy and he smokes a little. I figured it would be better to be honest with him and give him the heads up on my plan and see if he was ok with it. He simply said be careful and if anything happens i knew nothing about it. So i have his blessing but he was not big on the idea of building a grow room. I understand his position and opted for a grow tent. Never grew in one before but they seem slick so with little other option besides building a grow cab i got a secret jardin 120 darkroom. I looked at lots of digital lights and read to many storys about the cable guy showing up so i went with a switchable 600w magnetic kit with a cool tube type reflector and mh/hps bulds. Think it comes with yoyo hangers and timer too. I also have a 600w digi in storage and a few extra bulbs. They were all in working order when put away bit have not checked to see if they still work. Hope to use them as backup if my new light fails. I also have a 300+ cfm (cant remember exactly the cfm # or brand) vent fan so i did not order new blower. Might get another one if i end up needing it. I got a ipower 6" charcoal filter. I hope this wasnt a mistake cutting corners with cheap filter. If so it will be a lesson learned. Smell is not a huge concern but always something i would like to keep at a minimum. I order pure blend pro grow and bloom soil because it qas what i had uaed before. I plan to grow in some sort of soil/soilless mix but my local options are slim to non so im hoping to find some pro mix or sunshine mix or something like that locally but if not i will most likely settle for fertalome ulimate potting mix. Its pricy for what it is bit at least it isnt mirical grow bs. I did find fox farm ocean forest and happy frog at a local farm store of all places but i have never tried them and they are ridiculously priced. I plan to run 6-9 plants in 7 gal grow bags. Not sure if 9 would be too much and crowd the tent. The plants are already vegged for 3 or 4 weeks now and were inteded at first for outdoor so they have gotten stretched put more than i would have liked. I topped 6 or them to try and get some side branches going. We shall see. I have 2 female seeda pure ak. 2 delicious Seeds critical x yumbolt. 1 delicous seeds critical x sensi star and one nirvana swiss cheese. All are fem seeds and about 10-12 inch tall at the moment. I hoped to move them from their cut off 2 liter pots intp the 7 gal bags next week and them veg for maybe another 3/weeks before i flip to flowering. So that's my set up and beginning of a plan. Anything that anyone has to offere as far as critiques or ideas are welcome.
