So far, so good, my friend! Now don't make the "newbie" mistake of overwatering and for God's sake don't feed them anything for the first two or three weeks anyway. Just keep the soil moist but don't saturate and you should be fine. Also, if using a flouro for lighting, get that light within a couple of inches of the plant tops so the plants don't stretch trying to get to the light. Best of luck with your good start!
thx for letting me know im going ok so far rellikbuzz, im watering them everyday 5ml. im not using flouro's, im going to be using 400w sodium. can i put them under now? also when is best time to feed, before light, after light or during light? many thx
400 watt is to strong for them youngun's. You can go cheap by getting a 60 watt or 100 watt huse bulb, and a cheap reflector fixture with the clamp on it and use. Best time to feed is during light hours.
My pleasure Rhino, anytime. I use a 125 watt flouro for my 12 site clone/seedling bubbler with 1 intake fan and 1 exhaust fan (110 volt 4" fans rated at 320 cubic feet per minute) Keeps my temps around 80 constantly.
Like Dr. D said, an envirolite would work great for your setup, then use your 400 watter for flowering.
Still might be a bit to warm, I've never dealt with 250 mh or hps. check the heat from it first, if you can. If any doubts go with the flouro's. If you do go with the 250 H or HPS, make sure you have a fan over them to help with heat.
ive got a couple of fans keepin them cool, i got them about 30" below 400w sodium should i alter height of light? i started them on 18/6 yesterday a hour to go until first 18 light cycle complete. looks like i lost 1 last night totally keeled over but 9 out of 10 still lookin ok for a first timer. thx dirtysouth
i first bought a 250W MH for veg but have since bought a 125W compact flourescent and the compact flourescent blows the MH away, the young plants have never been so happy under there. especially seedlings... i find its much easier to get the plants very close to the compact without stressing them out
