Here are some more pics I took the dome off and put a fan on low by them, at first one was drooping from the fan but it since has stood back up tall :) Thanks again for advice guys and the last pic you can see the one that had the damage on the leaves. I'm still not sure what caused it..

Good luck with the grow man. I'm trying to get mine running and looking perfect. I have a few problems but over all the plants are doing good.

Ponics.

Ok this morning I checked on them and one of the plants is bent over again, I'm thinking this is because of the fan blowing on it. It bent over last night but then stood back up tall as you can see in pics. I moved fan back a bit more and its already on the lowest setting. Another prob is the cubes are starting to dry out, like when I pick them up they are light as hell and don't feel wet or moist at all, I gave them another quick spray anyhow. Any ideas why cubes are drying out so fast and why plant keeps toppling over? I included some pics of it anyhow, thanks

Here is the same plant the night before:

they need more than a quick spray, they need to be moist. not sopping wet, but moist. droopy one could be symptom of lack of water, not just fan. good luck.

Hey think I could move the droopy one into a bubbler? I think the problem is that the root is showing through the bottom of the cube now and is brown which means its dying. I had to slice cube open to put seedling in since taproot was so long at first so i can easily remove it from the rockwool and put into hydroton into a 4'' pot in a bubbler with 1/4 strength nutes. i'll post ya some pics in a little bit I hope htis saves this plant :)

Hey I took the droopy one and took it out of the rockwool very carefully and put it into a 4'' netpot with hydroton. I put it in so that the roots were hanging through one of the holes and into the water. I have 1/4 strength nutes mixed with the RO water. Here are a few pics hopefully this one makes it, the leaves were curled up today.....

And here are the other three still in the cubes

you did a good job bro.. do i see curling on the leaf of the one in the bucket? also, on the 2nd to last pic, do i see yellowing on the seedling? i swear to god you dont wanna be feeding them nutes bro.. not until they tell you they need em.. i almost killed all my seedlings my first round way back in the day, tryin to hustle up a batch of that sticky hippy hay

Hello & right on Radium. Listen to Celtic, he's absolutely correct. I've killed a bunch by over-fert, and not one by under-fert.

What with individual strain's different nute preferences, and variances in systems & growers' habits, you need to find what works with yer strain and system; and the plants will tell you better than anyone else.

Good Luck

celtic: I have not fed them any nutes. The one with yellowing yellowed on its on I have only fed it plain RO water. Now the one curling in the bubbler had a root poking through the bottom of the cube which was brown.. :( I think thats why it curled up, but it is in the bubbler now and I took it out of the rockwool and hung the roots through the bottom hole in the netpot and into the water which has 1/4 nutes in it. This is the first time I have fed any nutes to the plants and only the one in the bubbler the others have still only been given RO water. I'm crossing my fingers for the one in the bubbler

Hey guys its day 15 now. On the bottom of all the cubes was little white root poking out the bottom but the tips of them were brown. I put the cubes in 4'' netpots with hydroton and put water level about an inch above bottom of pots.

I mixed up a 1/4 strength nute mix and got a automatic humidifier in there that will keep my humidity at whatever I like so I set it to 60%. I also got another flouro fixture in there and couple new phillips bulbs that are red, said on the box they were for plants and aquariums so i put one in each fixture so now they will have a wider spectrum.

Anyhow here are some more pics they have been in the bubbler now for a full day.

What do you guys think I could be doing better?

DAY 17
-------
Hey guys just wanted to post a couple pics, the plants are looking better since i put into the bubbler. I'm giving them 1/4 strength nutes at 100PPM, the pH is around 5.8-6.0 right now. All of them now have roots in the water, my question is now that the roots have grown into the water I am able to lower the level under the baskets but can I just take water out or do I have to change entire res or just wait the water evaporates and plants use it?

Ok nobody has replied yet... Basically heres my prob. I have the water level right now about 1'' above the bottom of the netpots. I have 1/4 stength nutes mixed in which is around 100PPM. Now all the plants have grown their roots into the water.

How can I lower the water level in there? Can I just take water out or will this mess up the nutrients available for the plants?

Second question is how can I bump the PPM up to 200? Do I just add pure nutes into the res or mix up 1/2 strength nutes with 1 gallon of water and add or what?

Just need to get these things cleared up asap so that I can take care of my babies :)
Thanks again guys

You can add pure nutes but in large amounts like you need I personally wouldn't do it. I usually add at least some water to whatever nutes I add to the res.

Basically all the water in there is 100ppm. Taking out 1g for example is still going to leave it at 100ppm. Then just add whatever you need in 1g of a very high concentration nute mix. This will average out. For exampe:

You have 10g of water at 100ppm and take out 1g to replace with new nutes (now 9g). You want 200ppm so the 1g of nutes you add must average out with the entire res to 200ppm. Therefore you want ~2000ppm water for the gal of water you add. 2000/10 = 200ppm / g.

It's just basic math but I usually just estimate. Just use whatever your res size is.

As for getting water out of the res, just dump some out if you can or simply stick a jug or bottle in there and pull out enough for 1g.

hi radium:

why do you want to lower the water level and why do you want to raise the nute strength?

Those plants are only babies and allready look a little like they have nute burn...

Nute burn is goona slow them down...and you will have to flush and fill anyway...

Do you measure your ec to see if they are drinking up the nutes...if they aren't then not much point in giving them more..

deepsoul: they all have roots which hang in the water theres no need to have the water level above the bottom of the netpot when this happens. I lowered it about an inch under the net pot to create an aeroponic atmosphere for the plants. None of them have nute burn whatsoever also, any yellowing on the plants happened before they were fed any nutes if u read the entire post you can see in early pics the yellowing which has since stopped and any new growth on the plant is a lush green. I do measure my pH and PPM daily and it start at around 110 and is now down to 80-90 which isnt too drastic but the plants are all 18 days old now and have roots which grew out the baskets. I was going to raise the nutes to 1/2 strength around 200ppm. You don't think this is advisable? When should I start to raise nute concentration then? Thanks
