First Grow day 9 of flowering with PICS!! White Rhino and Cali Orange

Hello fellow growers!
This is my first grow which I started in mid January. I ordered Cali Orange Bud and White Rhino online from amsterdam ten of each. I germed all of them 19/20 germinated. Out of the ones that sprouted I took the healthies ones and put them into veg.
The white rhino strains seemed to grow alot faster than the cali oranges and also seemed to be more stable. I vegged them for 42 days and are now in their 9th day of flowering. preflowers started showing from day 39-42(days from germination). Out of the strongest healthiest plants I kept for veg which was 9, there was 2 males and 7 females (2 cali orange and 5 white rhino's). One cali orange and one white rhino. I was planning on keeping the males to collect pollen to possibly breed plants but after much consideration I have decided to kill them. Right now they are in the bathroom tub waiting to be killed.

For veg I used 5x27w 6500k cfls in a veg box I made which is 2.5ft x 1.5ft x 4ft high covered in white/black mylar in the inside. I was able to put a total of 9 plants in this space for veg and it just fit in. I am using Biocanna nutes for the whole grow but i'm considering if i should get bioboost or not. It is a very expensive booster. For veg I was using biovega, rhizotonic, b-1, and cannazym. I think they are very good nutes cuz my plants were flourishing in the veg box under those cfls.

Now I am using Bioflores, b-1, rhizotonic, and cannazym. All i am mssing for flowering nutes is the bioboost which costs 140$ for a Litre. The plants are in a flower box which is 4ft wide x 2.5ft long x 6 3/4ft tall. They are being naturally grown, no lst or scrogging and are under 2x 125w 2700k envirolites. I'm thinking of getting a few more 2700k cfls to increase the yield.
I have started posting since I started at grasscity and have decided to post a journal here too. because a buddy of mine who recently started to grow has started to post on this website. If you want to see the plants in beginning phases of its life here is the link to my other grow journal.

first grow ayy !!??
I wish my first grow was that big! :joint:

keep the picture's coming in man, I would love to see how these finish.
I've been thinking of getting some caliorange beans, but im not quite sure yet. :lurk:

thank alot for the comments..
I did alot of research before i decided to grow. It all started off with me purchasing a book "MARIJUANA HORTICULTURE THE INDOOR/OUTDOOR MEDICAL GROWER'S BIBLE" just because the book seemed so informative and I love learning knew stuff about weed. After gathering all the info I decided to start growing as the knowledge of how to grow was just streaming through my brain. I also checked out grow diaries at forums and decided to grow some weed of my own. I really love the plants in every single growth stage it is amazing how they grow and so beautiful!

FlyvAgaric thanks for taking an interest my grow.. I will post pictures often to keep you guys updated... Cali orange I find is a delicate strain and you have to take good care of it. out of the 19 that germed 10 were cali oranges and 9 werre white rhinos. I wanted to keep the same amount of cali oranges as white rhino's but the cali oranges not that many of them grew strong and healthy that is why i currently have 2 cali orange females. I can't wait to see what the cali orange will look like as well as the white rhino. But if you do go with cali orange take good care of them. cuz i took medium care of my plants and the cali oranges didn't grow as healthy as the white rhino plants in veg. oh yeah 1 of the 3 calis became a male. But I think cali orange will produce some nice buds we'll see when it is ready for harvest. It is also a higher yielding plant.

Anyways I got the final nute that i needed to complete the nutrient line-up of biocanna and i'm sure the plants will love them so far they have received biovega for veg and have just started on bioflores. Both were nutes were mixed with rhizotonic and cannazym as it is part of the feeding program developed by Biocanna and also some b-1. Today I bought the most expensive nute. The Bioboost. It cost me 150$ with tax for 150$ but its all for my beautiful babies.
So I am using the full BioCanna line up using its feeding program..

Bioboost is used with Bioflores along with some cannazym and a bit of rhizotonic.. To me they are doing wonders so far although I have never tried any other line up of nutes before. I wanted to go with 100% organic nute line and BioCanna had just come out which comes from the company Canna. Canna is known world-wide for its excellent chemical nute line for plants made in the great Netherlands(Holland). After doing much research they have decided to come out with an organic nute line called BioCanna and now they are on the shelves!

So I decided to experiment with this new nute line and their company name made them more appealing "CAnna"---BIS as if they were making nutes soley for cannabis plants. And I think I made a good choice in chosing this nute line so far. The only thing I'm missing is HPS but I don't have the money to spend for that so I am using 2x125w envirolites at 2700k.. I also bought 4x23w 2700k cfls for more lighting at the bottom. We'll see how they grow under these lights. Hopefully I will get a good yield.

Well its day 11 of flowering and I fed some of the bio-boost today. I scheduled the feeding days to be Monday, wed Friday. Since I picked up the lights I'm gonna change the lighting a little bit. Gonna slant the 125ws at a 45degree angle on both sides coming in to form a sort of v but not touching each other and hang 4 cfls in between plants to give light to the bottom.

Anyways it seems like there are some problems with my plants. There are signs of problems on the leaves I took some pics. tell me what u guys think..

The ones which don't seem to be showing any problems..

hangook420: man I am just finishing up a similar grow. Cali Orange from Gypsy and Wihite Widow from Greenhouse seeds. It was awesome.

The Cali Orange is a very strong grower, mine got up to like 6' but I tied them down for LSt etc. I would say it is more sativa leaning because of the height and leave structure. The yield is going to be amazing. The colas are huge and there are tons of 4" bud sites all over the plant. It is at 8 1/2 weeks flower now and I think I will let it go until at least 10, maybe 11. I just chopped my WW and smoking on it now - really good smoke.

So be prepared for some growth with those Cali Os. If your WR is more indica, which I think it is, you might have some issues with even canopy height as they will grow lower than the Cali Os. Be prepared to tie down the Cali Os, and / or raise the WR.

I am really happy with my grow, and for a 400W I was able to fit six plants and the yield is going to be maximal. I have a small grow diary, no pics in this section too if you want to search.

thanks for the info on the strains unknown one.. Cali O sounds good.. I bet WW packs a punch... how much did your plants yield?? how many of the six were cali-o and how many of the were WW?

The cali-o's I have.. have more indica like leaves and the white rhino more of sativa.. but a mix of both indica and sativa. The tall plants in the pics are the white rhino's. The two plants to the left of the pics( the two headed one and the one right beside it) are the Cali oranges..
anyways thanks for dropping by

Those damaged leaves look like either nute burn or a ph problem to me...do you have a ph meter?

have u thot about letting those envirolites hang lower inside the canopy and raising your new cfls to the top? since the envirolites dont put out to many lumens at a distance u should try to get them as close as possible to the bud sites. i took some news pics of my durban poison and my box is done ill put up the pics whenever i can. ive got the canopy LST'd again and about 1-2" from the envirolite

my new lighting set up

my new lighting set up

yeah i though about putting the envirolites at the bottom and the new smaller cfls at the top but doesn't the top need more lighting? Does anyone know what would happen if their is a lower wattage at the tops of the plants and more light at the bottom?
I'm thinking there needs to be more lighting at the top of the plants than at the bottom that's why I'm thinking of having the 2x 125w 2700k envirolites slanted at like a 30 degree angle and hang the envirolites on the frame. one on each side and get the 23w cfl in between plants in the lower area.

Here is what it would look like.

Yep, nute burn/lockout because of PH problems (too high/low).

The WW were an average yielder, I don't have a scale for security reasons. The Cali-Os are going to be massive. The colas are huge, maybe 10" long and 5" around and due to the LST there are a lot of 6" buds along the top of the shaft. I flowered 3 WWs and 3 Cali-Os under one 400W HPS and feel I maxed out the yield. If I let the Cali-Os grow straight up they would be 6'.

hey, i bet the reason your having crazy problems with nute burn/lock out and pH is a result of that crazy line up of feeding products.

shoulda gone with something simple :p pure blend has been dope so far.

update flowering day 14

update flowering day 14

Well I took some pics of plants which had started developing buds. I did some research on the damaged leaves and I think that the orange tips are from micronutrient deficiency. I think its zinc.. so i'm planning on going out to buy a micronutrient nute to mix in and give the plants.. or is it a pH problem causing a lockout.. my pH is at 6.8 in soil?? is it causing a lockout of some nutrient??

Anyways here are the pics...
Gonna fix up the lighting sysem as fast as possible so the plants could get more and better lighting. The tallest plant right now is around 3 ft and 1/8. 3 plants are around 3 feet and the other ones from 1.5 ft to 2.5 ft.
Any comments or help is much appreciated...

I don't think its a problem with the nutes i;m feeding them.. I mean they do product have a feeding schedule although i wasn't sticking by it completely when i started flowering. because i got the nutes 4 days into flowering and the bioboost like another week later when they were supposed to be fed both of these from the beginning along with cannazym and rhizotonic. Thats why i'm really leaning towards a nutrient defiency and not a burn..

Hmmm.. They don't look that bad right now/anymore. Maybe your giving them too many nutes thinking your going to cure the problem, when in fact you are over feeding them.take the pots outside(if you can) or to the tub and flush the pots once or twice with clean water if the problem persists. As you have learned from your calioranges, Plants can be delicate... But Cannabis is a hardy plant and even when its on its last limbs there is still a chance it will bring it self back up. On its own.

its lookin good man.
