First Grow...awaiting seeds...wishing to purchase supplies

I was just wondering what type of small inexpensive light would work for a small stealth cupboard or growbox grow i should use. I was hoping something under 40 dollars canadian  I was also wondering if the use of one of those candle warmers (like a mug heat pad) would maybe help a bit more heatwise...because for the boxing day sale i can get one for 3 dollars...

Thanks

p.s. I will be growing 2-3 plants at a time and am awaiting some bogbubble and papaya!

If you want anything worthwhile to smoke your gonna have to get a HPS. Under floros it wouldn't even be worth your time or money to grow it. Goodluck in what ever you do. peace

hmmm wats an HPS, where can i get them, what sizes and how much? lol

Sorry i really dont wanna waste my time by growing something and being completely let down.

You can grow using floros but you need more than one fixture. I can't remember the formula but you need a bunch of lumens per square foot for the plants to grow decent.
With HPS= high presure sodium, You get alot of lumens per square foot.
HPS comes in those 70 watt that you find at home depot or 250, 400, 600,1000 watt. Clearly the more watts = more lumen psf. I use a 400 watt HPS and grow 4 to 6 plants no problem. Also the plants prefer HPS for flowering.
Some folks use metal halide for veg and HPS for flower as the color spectrum is different and the plants like one spectrumm for veg and another for flower.
The bottom line is you will need a few flouro fixtures to grow a decent amount
so prepare to spend some bucks the first time in order to get a decent yield.
but think of it this way, you will still have the lights for future grows. This sure ain't a cheap hobby.

Here we go I found this on another site.
Lumens needed are. 2000 psf = minimal amount for growth.
5000 psf = mid range.
7000 or more psf. = optimal .
To figure out how many lumens you have psf(per square foot).
Divide the lumens by the square ft. so if your light says it has 45,000 lumens
and your space is 3 square feet it's 45,000 divided by 3.
Good luck. Hope this helps.
