First grow... also, nutes?

Hey so here is the situation.

I Have 15-20 plants that are 2-3 feet tall from top of bucket. I have 3 available lights and so far plan on having 2 HPS lights and 1 MH in the middle.

I have a decent amount of space- 10 feet by 8 feet I think. I will update later once measure.

I will also add pictures of the plants soon.

So I know that the plants are already big for indoor- especially since I have so many.. But I will begin LST tomorrow and bend them down to flower in 2 days. This way they will all be same height and all the tops will start growing up in a line of colas.

Anyways what I am mostly asking is what nutes I should use/get. I am going to a store to buy 2 ballasts, PH pen, new bulbs, and some other random stuff for the setup. I do not want to play with AN.. unless there are a few ‘must haves’. So which nutes should I buy for this first indoor grow? I can foliar feed or water- I planted in soil.

That should be everything.. If you see any advice or points you see that might be problematic then let me know!

Being your first grow, I wouldn't over complicate things. Just go for whatever base nutes you want and with experience you will be more able to judge exactly what your plants crave. Honestly though, how did you get 2-3ft plants with out using any nutes thus far and do you have 15 or 20? Anyways best of luck.

What do you mean how did I get them 2-3 ft without nutes...? I just let them veg out for a while..

Anyways, I have decided to follow advice I saw on a good growers thread, which is just maxibloom every watering.

And I have 21 plants but was not sure how many I was going to keep as mothers, hence why I said 15-20 plants. I figured everything out by now..

Keeping 4, triggering the rest. Walls of mylar, fans, inline fan, 3 1000w lights, 16 big ass plants that are now bent over by LST. Soon as I make the door tonight, I switch the lights to 12-12. So pumped.

Right on, I used the lucas formula with GH bloom and micro. It is a pretty similar nutrient profile to maxibloom. Granted, I was doing hydro DWC not in soil. The reason why I asked about getting to 2-3 feet in veg with out nutes is plants need nutes in both veg and bloom. From my understanding most store bought soils (FFOF/FFHF) will last you about a month or so before plants will start to show deficiencies.

No no noooo.. Super false.

I mean sure, if you use crap soil- then yes, you will get deficiencies.. But I use good soil.. Never need any nutes.. When I xplanted it outside- the 4 plants in one area grew to 9 ft. NO NUTES at all.

How many plants do you have per light and what is your yield?

I just got through with my first run. It was 4 plants in individual DWC buckets under 1k mh for veg and hps for flower. I ended up getting 590g or ~21oz of dried, trimmed, cured herbs.

Nice... that is a good amount for 1 light.. How many weeks did you end up vegging for?

Also, been wondering... For how many days does the plants grow like crazy after its been triggered.. and when does it start? Switched to 12-12 last night.. just want to know when to expect growth to start and to stop before flowering... and idea?

I vegged for 4 weeks. My plants seemed to stretch for the first 10-14 days and then began to fatten up. It really depends on strain/pheno as to how much and how long they stretch after you flip them. Sativas tend to stretch more as well as longer while indicas will stretch less and for less time. Do you know the genetics or are they just bag seed?

Purple kush and Jacky white

Well purple kush is going to be more indica dominant while the jacky white (paradise seeds?) is said to be heavily sativa.

Ya thats what I read as well.. But the plants seems to have done the exact opposite.. The Jacky White plants are way more compact and indica like.. while the Purple Kush grew tall and pretty thin...

I thought it was because of the HPS they were vegging under being too high up.. But then why didnt the Jacky White grow tall and skinny too?? Crazy weird :/

That's interesting, are they all from seed or are they clones?

Ya.. Clones... The JW I personally took clones from the mother that was from seed.. The PK I bought from a guy.. so... Dont think he would lie about it though...
