Well I'm in the planning stages for setting my 4x4 tent up for perpetual auto grow. I have a dr 120 w/ 400w mh for veg and 600whps for flower. I will be using ffof soil with a light dose ff nutes. I want to maximize the yield and potency for what space I have and my only concern now is what strains to get? I have the money to order a few packs but just so unsure of which ones to start with. I was thinkin maybe auto ak and diesel ryder or auto assassin and auto lemon skunk I'm just so lost

Your grow setup seems very similar to mine in terms of space/light etc, except you're going perpetual. Do you have a seperate space for veg/sexing or are you going to keep them in the one space? how often do you want to be harvesting?

I think what you need to consider before choosing strains.. is how many you want to run...are plant numbers an issue?

You could run less.. but bushier auto's like the AK in bigger pots.. maybe even LST them?
or you could go for more plants but smaller stature like Pinkbud for more of a single cola AF-SOG?

Theres lots of possibilties

Plant number not too much of an issue, I don't want an overwhelming amount lol. I would like to harvest 4 or 5 every 3 weeks. I can setup a different area for veg and sexing if need be. Would it be best to sex and veg in a small cup until sex is known then transplant to my final pots

have a look at my thread.. which is an AF-SOG.. to be honest if you get the simple things right looking after a large number isn't any harder than a small number, it just takes a little more time...

or the man to speak to about perpetual AF's is 20/4 he's been running a nice perpetual for awhile now.. it's a 150w grow though but he gets stellar results.

Personally I don't like cups.. I think theres too much of a danger of stunting them.. either through being root bound.. and the chance of them getting hungry before sexing is higher..

I prefer either a 2 litre pop bottle.. a 1 litre square pot or larger.. and i want to try a 1.4 litre extra deep square pot. None of these take up much room, so you can cram a lot in to get your desired fem number.

These are just the way I do things though, everyone has their own preferences.

anything with ak or diesel in the lineage is gonna produce well under your lights, im yet to see a strain with them lines contained that under performs, also the auto white russian is meant to be a good strain to grow

it really depends on what you want by this i mean you could grow 10 small plants in your tent or you could grow 3 monsters and there is strains that will suit both

you only have to look at mitchs diary to see how you could fill your tent with smaller plants or you could look at the white russian and lowryder#2 or maxi gom diaries etc and see what fewer plants but bigger yield will do

you also have the choice of the superautos to choose from

are you gonna do a grow log when you have selected your seeds?

yes, I will do a log. i'd rather have a few larger plants than a bunch of little ones, probably use 3gal bags. Some of short stuffs strains look pretty enticing for their yields and diaries I've seen
