First Arizona outdoor recorded on ICmag.

alright so ive never seen any thread or anything on growing marijuana in arizona so ill try to be the first to post one, keep in mind this will be my first time.

Im nearly positive we are well into the outdoor season for outdoor as of now i am prepping to take some supplies to the plot i have found.

soil- black gold organic potting soil

pots-from seed in 1 gallon after 3 weeks they'll go into 5 gallons and after a a month to 6 weeks they will be going into 15 gallon pots for floweing.

Lets just say im in the phoenix area.... what do you expect if the seeds are going into the ground on may 10th? im assuming my buds will be ripe around october depending the strain but i just need a second opinion.

im thinking of growing random bag seeds, and if i can, obtain afghani, skunk #1, california orange, and durban poison... so people, lets talk business!(PM me if you got any of these or other good ones you think i should try)

Are you in northern arizona or southern. Flagstaff is the best place to grow herb in the lower 48. Around phoenix or tucson can grow great herb if you have the right genetics. But man flagstaff kicks ass. I wish I had some land up there.

what kind of strains would you guys recommend i was thinking the skunk, afghani, and durban poison would be great choices but i wasnt positive... any other recomendations on strain type?


i never really understood because when its 120 outside, can the plant still thrives as long as it has as much water as it needs? id think as do all plants it would get so hot it would wilt and die off, any opinions?

ok so indicas like afghani wouldnt stand a chance for this season? because afghani is one of the few brande named strain i got to sample and it by far had my vote. so it looks like durban poison and ubc chemo would be good so far if only i could get ahold of this guy....

if anyone on this site knows "i812345" from overgrow and icmag, can you tell me what happened to him??? he had numerous threads up of his ubc chemo grows along with his own breed "lemon chemo", then all the sudden he disappeared anderased his accounts...

ive tried some reeferman strains that grew in flagg a little airy but smelled and tastes great.

If i were you, i'd dig a hole and use that as a pot because it will help preserve the moisture longer in the soil. Also the soil temp will stay a little cooler. For sure, in the heat of the 120 degree summer water often. I'm thinkin every or every other day when it gets bad. If you give them sufficient water, you could grow any strain you want. Sativas should naturally handle the heat better than indicas since they have thinner leaves, they dont have as many stomata to evaporate water and also radiate heat better. Durban poison would be good, its a south african strain.

definatly throw some multch over the soil and spray the foliage with liquid seaweed. I know its good for the heat to thicken up the cell walls and the multch should keep the roots much cooler. Just watch for scorpians they hide in that shit. Flaggstaff probably no worries, but desert ooo.

Actually, Indicas like afghanis will not suffer any more than sativas do, as they often come from regions where summer temperatures reach 115° F. Yes, the leaves are broader, but they're also a good deal thicker, which, if you notice desert plants, is a pretty common characteristic for plants which have to deal with extreme temp changes, like those you'll find in a desert.

What they will need is a lot of water, so if that's an issue for you, you might want to avoid them.
