first AF grow?

hey folks,,got some AF gear.. JD easy ryder,short stuff onyx,mdanzig bluestreak,,,they are up about 14 days,in 9 ltr sq pots,lc's mix w/guano...when & what should i feed them,veg food now??flower food after they show sex?anybody got a scheldule thats tried and true??or just water w/lk&molasas?all organic on the porch???will get pics @ day 20 +-......tia

I had two Mi5 that had an unplanned topping last year when my goats ate the tops off of them. It set back veg about a week or more and in the end produced no more than the ones that weren't topped.

Hope Archie doesn't mind me asking this in his thread, but what kind of height difference would you guess there was between the topped and regular Mi5 Muddy? Reason I ask, I'm playing around growing a couple auto AKs in an outdoor "stealth" trash can thing..... Going well, but they are already trying to rise above the top of the trash can, even with me trying to tie them down.... Only day 30 something I guess. If topping will keep them shorter, and not hurt the Auto AK47 too bad, then that's what I want to do next run...

Archie, I'm not trying to butt in on your thread brotha, but I don't think I can use PM's yet and I really wanted to get an answer about topping the AF's. Once again, good luck, and I hope things go well for ya!!!!!!

any auto that i gave molasses to took a shit about a week later. a lot of leaves died and the plants started dying. i will never feed a auto flowering plant molasses again. maybe i gave them too much? i fed them one tablespoon per gallon. if you're going to feed them molasses don't give them any more than 1 teaspoon per gallon.

They were about 6" shorter than the untopped one. Instead of having one main kola and several branches around the base as is fairly typical they split into 4 branches and still had the smaller ones around the base. The yield was slightly less but that wasn't necessarily because of the topping. Could have just been the pheno. I didn't really see any benefit to topping autos. I think LST would be a more effective technique for keeping them shorter.

Thanks Muddy! I was thinking about trying lst on the ones I have going now, but I read that autos can't handle it. After watching these auto AK's grow, I'm fairly certain there would have been no problem using lst with them.... Advice was very helpful. + Reputation.

thanks all,wicked good advice..being my first auto grow,,outside so far they look sweet..about day 20+-...they made it through a downpour that some of my vegis could'nt take???smokey,muddy thanks 4 stoping in...may call on you more as this keeps growing???

You're welcome, anytime. I did LST one of them and it worked fine. Don't think it helped it to produce more like it would on a full size plant but it did keep it lower.
