Fire and wind

Prayers go out to all who lost a house, a loved one, a crop or are being evacuated as we speak in SoCal. It's Dark Orange outside, the sun is red, and it's snowing ashes. Keep your chins up.

i just saw the news... whoa whoa whoa.. i don't watch much tv but i can't sleep so im up to catch the morning news. they just showed a "tornado... whipping up the fire on the ground." u see the fire sort of dancing on the ground and the camera pans upward to show a thin funnel reaching from the ground to the dark sky...

in a very weird way... orange/reddish glow of the fire against the dark night sky coupled with the haze of smoke.. I'M SORRY IF THIS OFFENDS SOMEONE.. it's quite beautiful.

they say the winds are blowing at a 100mph, fires are as high as 20-30 feet. i wish those people the best over in cali.

Let's be grateful there is only one dead so far. Property can be replaced. Each person who dies not only wastes a life but wrecks a family too.

Lets hope the score stays at one, theres a lot of firefighters and professionals fighting this mess at the moment and they are right on the front line.....

It is getting a little scary now. The fires are still not controlled. My daughter lives in the Harris fire area and her area is under voluntary evacuation. The fire is 6-8 miles from her place. I am on the phone with her every hour. Neither of us slept last night.

Yeah ,pretty gnarly, this morning the fog was thick with ashes and toxic particles in the air. .. and I imagine many outdoor crops just ready to pick were destroyed...such shame, specially now when the Fall supply is so low due to the hot summer..

Over 1 million people in the city were evacuated, over 600,000 in one day.

Did they stay and wait for FemA or anyone else to bail them out???

HEll no, We did it ourselves and helped our neighbors, California is one heck of a state.
People can talk shit all they want, but we legalized herb for patients first and we took care of each other's backs, if we depended on any government aid, it would be as bad as Katrina, fire moved in QUICK and thick..

you sure you wanna make that comparison... i think a lot of people, including myself, were staying away from the comparison on that one! but since u started it.... (lol)

i'll say California handled disaster A LOT better than Louisiana! i think the example set in Louisiana shows that no one can rely on such an inept and incompetent federal government. it's fortunate for Cali now and everyone in the future to have seen what happened and didn't happen in Louisiana.

There was a big difference in Qualcom (which you could get to) and the stadium in New Orleans(which you couldn't). But there is also a huge difference in competence of state and local officials in Cali and La. The feds were horrible in Katrina and unnecessary in Cali. The city of San Diego and the gov. of Cali did a great job.

Thanks. Everythings O.K. now. Fire on 3 sides, but didn't get closer than 4 miles. Think I can finally change my undies. They definately need it!

Only one of the fires is suspected arson. The Malibu fire was caused by a downed power line. The other 13 fires could have been started by a cigarette thrown away or something else. This time of year, the whole place is a tinder box and ,with the Santa Ana winds, it is just a fire waiting to happen. Thankfully, it is over for now,but it will happen again.

I am very sceptical. They all started the same week and in different areas, I heard all BUT one were being investigated as arsons...remember the huge building in La Jolla that burned down? There are alot of crazy ELF types around these areas, but then again, in 2003 I think it was mainly a dumb hunter who started the fire...anyways, they were human caused for sure, no lightning this time of year, and I doubt 13 transformers down caused them all..
