Finishing questions

I'm just finishing up my first serious grow. It's outside in a greenhouse, strains are NL, couple Hazes, Early Durbans, Cheese, and WW. I'd love to get some advice from those more experienced growers out there.

As they finish, I noticed the calyx's swell, approaching the size of the ones that develop at the nodes. Is there any relationship between the size of the finished bud's calyx's and the mature preflower calyx's?

It appears that the side buds are finished or nearly so, while the colas are a few days or week behind. If I harvest most of the lower branches, will that be likely to slow growth in the cola? I don't mind waiting, just want to pick at peak ripeness after all this work and anticipation!

I'm watching the flowers overall essence to determine ripeness. I'd also like to compare some of the more focused pieces like trich colors and breeder's finishing times to get a better idea of how everything works. These plants developed the pistil clustering on August 1-3. The breeder's will say 10 weeks flowering for example. Does this start counting at the pistil clustering or when an indoor grower changes light cycle? I understand there's about a two week difference in these?

Thanks! I hope you're all having great grows!

i start counting days from when flowering(pistils) begins.even indoors. watch the thrics. milky white, the first signs of amber, is the time to pull. if side buds look ready take em and get the colas later.
