Finding Seeds in Hawaii?

where you going? Big island is where you'll find it brother. I'd plan on spending some time in Puna, there's plenty of seed still around.

Thank you. As it happens, we will be going to the Big Island. I will do my best to outsmoke the volcano! 
Finding actual hawaiian strains? Very low. Finding seeds in weed you bought in hawaii? Very high.
In all honesty you have a much better chance of finding a hawaiian grower on the net with an old hawaiian strain than going there and hoping to find one.
Had some friends that lived in different parts of hawaii for years. Still have a few over there. None of them gave me very happy outlook on their growing scene.

Very difficult to find local strains now.....especially in Oahu.
20 years ago it was pretty much all local strains.....a great time.
Big Island is your best bet. Hawaiian Hash Bud was my all time favorite!!!

I did meet a grower on the Big Island. He said that they're growing the same stuff that MMJ growers in California, OR and BC are growing, plus the occasional seeds from the Netherlands. Didn't get any seeds from him, but his meds were some of the best I've ever had.
Also worth mentioning, the west side of the island was dry and folks seemed paranoid. The east side was a different story!

lol...you are pretty much on the money with that rubba...east side is much greener, literally and figuratively
there are still seeds here that people use to grow out their strains selected for their area...it all depends on who you know...i have people wanting me to try out their seeds they made because they taste my shit and want to see what i can do with them..unfortunately, i have stopped taking any more seeds because i have a shitload of my own, and i can't really trust other people's judgements about their strains as i have run into a lot of shitty herms and stuff...everyone and their mama has seeds here....that is not the problem...the issue is how are you going to find someone who has taken the time to fully test out their seed strains and are continuing to add, and not detract from the line....those dudes are very far, and very few between
good luck on your search...i would say that probably the best way to start is to buy a sack from someone, if you liek the weed, then ask around for some seeds from the dude, you might be surprised, as weed is expensive, but most people will give away seed for free...assuming they aren't some dicks
