FINALLY rooting clones!

Boy am I a happy cook. FINALLY I've got some clones rooting like hell.
Last crop, cloning was my big hangup. If I'd have taken any more cuttings off of that Afghani last year, I'd have had a bud on top of a 4 foot stalk.
So this year, I stepped up my efforts, got some Olivia's cloning gel rather than the powders I've been using, and I also got a seedling heat mat.
Some of the cuttings I've rooted were in Jiffy7s (only 1 strain worked there), but the rest started rooting like crazy in rockwool cubes. I'm a soil grower, but just got some rw cubes to play with.
So hooray for me. I now have clones rooting from 2 different Grape Punch phenos, an LSD, and a Sativa Mexicana. The SM was the easiest to root, and was the one that worked in the Jiffy7s. So now I've gotta get these rooty little cubes into some cups of soil and throw their mamas into 12/12.

man, I love learning new things and making progress, especially when it comes to growin good smoke.

Good to see ur getting clonin down, the Jiffy7's i find easy to clone in, but it can be tricky soaking them just the right amount, its easy to make em too wet, or not wet enuff.

yeah zep. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of room to keep mommas, but I'm workin on it. I'm gonna flower out the original large plants I took the clones from and keep their clones as mommas. Right now I have Grape Punch, LSD, and Sativa Mexicana.
Let's see if I can manage to keep em alive

I had a hard time with just about every method I tired, water temps, some strains root differently than others. I found rockwool and Bio Plugs or they are called Rapis Rooters ( Spongies things ) worked very well for every strain I have.
And Gel is the way to go.

growing lesson #379 learned

Now that I can root clones, I learned another lesson in relation to the subject (always learning). When them bad girls start showin roots outa the rockwool, jiffys, get em the hell into some soil for goodness sake(or, into the hydro system if that's yer preference)! Some of the clones I had bit the dust because they weren't transferred into fresh medium fast enough and those nice white healthy roots died back fast with no more nutes/medium to go after. Oh well, ya live and learn, eh? Lots more clones goin now.
