Finally getting started,

Well I guess I'm finally ready to get my feet wet and start my first grow.
The plan is to start a stealth grow involving a couple drawers in my desk.
Here are a couple pics (not great ones) of the situation:





I would appreiate all the feedback you can give me . Also, any suggestions on lighting? I'm going to the hydro shop tommarow to check things out.

Should be pretty fun to see what can happen!

I might suggest asking about compact fluro's for lighting...you'll need an exaust fan and maybe a small roll of mylar to line the box.

Fluros sounds pretty good, correct me if im wrong- but isnt it not possible to flower with fluros?, meaning i would later have to switch to an HPS?. Can you give me some tech. background on the kind of fluros i should be looking for.

For sure im getting mylar

Would just 1 exaust fan do? Or would I need an extra one for air intake.

Florous put out a decent amount of lumens and stay cold compared to other lights. a pc fan would to run your exhaust system should be fine, but 2 is better than 1.
the type of bulbs your going to be looking for is compact flourescents. you can find these at walmart, the watts is usauly better but what your really looking for is the "lumens" the higher the number here is better always. you will need about 5-8 light bulbs.

are you a student? If youre in a dorm surrounding, its a bad idea. When you get 6 cfl's in there and begin to flower them, the smelll goes right out the fan and engulfs the room. Even if youre just in an appartment, the scent will creep around the place and people will wonder. I suggest investing in an ionizer or other air purifier to be safe.

That is if you must.

Blues-Do the bulbs come with something that I can use them with? If not, then what products should I be looking for to get them to work? Sorry just not getting the picture. $$??

Mayor-No I do not live on campus, I have an apartment. The only reason I'm going stealth is because I dont want my g/f to know about this. I am already planning on investing on a "TrueAir" purifier, hope it will work.

compact fluro's look like these...


You can finish under them if you like no problem...you wont have super dense buds, but you will have a very nice end product I've grown with fluro's and was satisfied with the results.

The nice thing about the CF (compact fluro's) is that you dont need any special hardware. They fit into a normal light socket. I would go and get some of those cheap garage hang light reflector thingy's. They come with a cord and a little silver reflector type thing for $5.

Howdy taco bell dude!? Im just about to put together a small light thingy of cfl's. Im going to frame it out of 1x, and attach these here lil socket thingys' to the inside of the frame, might go with 2 x 4 for the longer pieces and use the 1x for the ends.




the wiring is very simple but if you got any qs' gimme a holla. By the way im prolly goin with the porcelin ones.

heres apic of my all cfl veg/clonong chamber 3ft by 4 ft by 8ft, drywall lid easy anchors for 2 4 light racks, 1 150 watt 6,500k agro cfl in center. fan on side hooked to themo in middle. area in bottom is 3ft tall, clone machines home.
