Filter for smoke?

Just wondering if anyone had any advice towards killing the smell of smoke? I'm living in an apartment and trying to be discreet, are carbon filters effective enough by themselves or is there anything else I should look into?

get a vape, its the tobacco that makes the smoke smell so much because of the tar.. you could also get a extractor rigged up moving the air out of your apartment when you toke..

water curing helps getting rid of the smell but unfotunately
also the taste from what i heared.

vaping is a good idea probably, there are also ionizers which clean the air
just not sure how fast and effective they might be while smoking.

IMHO, Vaping is probably the best option.

Water curing is good for "stealth" weed. Taste is virtually gone, but, it's smoooooth as silk smoke! It still smells like weed, but very faint. More aromatic weed might be a bit more than that.

Still, it smells enough like cigarette smoke to cause most to dismiss it. For those who wouldn't, add masking and you're home free! I would recommend that those who live under stricter prohibition laws, water cure at least a portion of their harvest.

You could rig up a few (2-4-more?) pc fan/carbon filters, with legs, and put them around the room. It'll still smell like an Amsterdam coffee shop, but with the filters working it won't last long.

Also, there is the Ona, bucket, and table fan trick. I've never used it, so take that for what's it's worth.

hth!

I have a friend who travels with a filter that I *think* is an ionizing filter+HEPA. I'd have to double-check.

Don't burn incense because it will go through the vents to the other apt's....dead giveaway..lol

yeah, vaping is the best when you have to be discreet about your particular habit. No smell, nobody knows, you win.

One thing that does work in a pinch is lighting some matches. The sulfur kills the smell very well. This is a trick I learned in the 70's.

There's a device called the smokebuddy too.

The smokebuddy is an option like mentioned above.

One thing i use to use back in my high school days was an empty paper towel roll stuffed with dryer sheets, then rubber band one or two around the end. Just blow the smoke threw that, can be a pain but it worked for me.

I used to do this in high school. Either my buddies parents were idiots or it works.

That's what I was looking at really, a 4/6 inch carbon filter/fan combo. Just wondering if that would kill the smell of smoke like it does herb, or at least take a good portion away. I can use some masking scents but I'd prefer not to if possible

Carbon filters kick ass.

If you're worried about immediate neutralization then use the "blowtube" dryer sheet method.

The kids have gotten better as stoners always do.

Now they melt a hole in the bottom of twenty ouncers wherever there's a point and then stuff the whole thing full of sheets.

Damn geniuses.

In my living room behind a wrap around couch I have a 8" Can-Lite Carbon Filter with a 8" fan on a speed control. In My office I have a 6" setup. In my basement I have a 1000cfm setup and another 8" setup. I don't even grow in the house besides a few pollen chuck experiements. They all eat smoke up quickly. The house overall has 2500+cfm of carbon filtration. Drying time and bagging time was giving my girlfriend extreme allergic reactions, sour bubble does that. Now no more problems. We had a small shindig not to long ago and I let everyone smoke cigs inside, everyone was drinking so you know how smokey it can get. The 1000cfm filter never once let a cloud of smoke linger. I would get a carbon filter and just make a smoke room with it in it.

Ultimately I have to suggest the same.

There really is no substitute.

The Dutch had that figured out in the 90's... if you "accidentally" smoked half an ounce of reefer with various hashes in a hotel you weren't supposed to smoke in they would deploy this carbon filter ventilation kit next to your door.

Or so I hear...

When I was living in dorms we used the Carbon Filters that attach to gas masks from the Army Navy surplus store. Breathing into the filter eliminated 100% of the residual smoke and odor and we never had any issues.

My dad says the Israeli gas masks are the best.
