any one have a recommendation on how long i should take my FFOF to my plots to let it break down so it doesnt have the fish smell to it? that way i wont have to worry about critters digging it up..im thinking about 45 days but i dont want to take it to soon and lose alot of the benefits of it..also has anyone used the FF orginal planting mix and if it has any dead rotten or fish smell to it and how long to compost it? i might just go with the happy frog if i cant use these other 2..i like the contents of this orginal mix though bc of the sandy loam,granite dust,kelp meal..i put the happy frog contents as well...i also thought about getting the soil conditioner so i can mix it with some local top soil..i will be adding neem meal and karanja meals to both mixes as well...thanks IC

Last year I just dug holes and filled them to about four or five inches from the top with the ocean forest right out the bag, worked great.

ya i can do that as well but the issue will be critters like racoons,opposum,ground hogs, fox and coyates here in my are and if they get a whiff of anything that smells like rotting fish and crabs then they will destory my plants by digging them up..so im trying to find out how long i should take the FFOF to my guerilla plots out in the bush to let them dig a while and then it will be broke down enuff..2 weeks,3 weeks etc etc..im guessing 45 days will be good enuff but hopefully someone will see this and let me know

I used FFOF in about 6 plots last year and didn't have a problem. I find it helps to put a layer of the native soil over my mix after I transplant.

i got 2 bags of happy frog and 2 bags of ocean forest..im gonna also get 2 bags of FF orginal planting mix and see which one i like the best..after opening the bag up of the FFOF and smelling of it i dont think i will have a issue with it either..it has no fish or rotted smell to it but ya im gonna be mixing in some local black top soil with it as well

@ aka herb hey bud thanks it looks like damn good soil after buying a couple bags and i think it will work good..i will take it there about 14 days before i plant anyways though to have the hole ready for me so i wont have to carry as much stuff to the plots..what got me concerned was the fish meal bc i used the fish stuff from alaska a few years back and it smelled horrible and just like a rotted fish but this soil dont have no kinda smell like that..i found some local as well and didnt have to pay 47$ for a 2 CF bag off amazon..they make it look like u are getting a good deal they put 59.99 and have that slashed out and got it marked down to 47$ lol nice try on them bc u still paying shipping
