Hey all hows it going? Just got a few questions for mnew grow space...Will be using 3x 600W SonT's, in a grow space of approx 1.8m by 1.8m (going by the 50w sq/ft rule) but i'm wondering what will be the best way to place the lights in the area fo maximum coverage without hot spots? For example in a straight line, equal distances apart going down the centre of the room? It's just that from everything i've been told you should use your lights in squares but cant seem to figure how to do it with 3 lights in a square?

Like obviously all equal distances once its worked out....but so that two lights are in squares and the 3rd light pvides equal coverage to the rectangular square that is missing out, but with that light putting out its footprint in the opposite way, if you know what i mean (using batwing reflectors)?! Thanks for any advice guys, also how much ventilation do you think I will need to get the room to an acceptable temperature?! I plan on buying a carbon filter / fan combo so would appreciate any advice you an give on right size for filter / fan?! I do have a couple oscillating fans and a 200mm exhuast fan so will probably use them, along with a big fan for the filter do you guys tink that should be enough to get it in the 25-30 degree celcius range?! My outside temps when lights on will be about 10-20 degrees so should work well (winter outside)..Cheers guys!

Each light is good for a 3'x3' coverage...the 50w sq/ft rule is for growing area, not the entire area of the room.

Personally, I'd build a 3'x9-10' table and hang the lights in a single row over it.

Your carbon scrubber needs to match the CFM output of your fan - you can't size scrubbers by the size of the room or the wattage of the lights.

Without ALL the details of your setup, it's impossible for anyone to know what your temps/RH will stay at...but an 8" inline fan should be plenty for most <2k setups.

MTF, cobo thanks for your replies....sorry I wasnt abit more specific. The room is 1.8m wide by 1.8m long and is 2.1m high. Your idea for 3x9 sounds bang on, but unfortunately isn't possible with current situation....I must use this room 1.8m x 1.8m x 2.1m, is 3 x 600W effective lighting for this room? or not enough I can get another light if needed, but I figured that 1800/(6x6=36sq/ft) = 50w sq/ft would be perfect?....It will be a 4 plant set up, huge plants though, they are already 2 foot and need to get into this room, because they are overflowing the cupboard, well 3 are 2 foot the other 1 is clone just getting roots lol! Two of them are in coco and I must give coco two thumps up! Plants are huge! Anyways I have figured a way to place the lights, not too sure if it's the most effective way to cover the room but hopefully it works well...Will post a few shot's here when it's all done, may yet have a few qustion's but think I hae it all sortted besides the fan /scrubber combo (sorry to come off as newb but do realise that the scrubber must be sized for the cfm of your fan but was just wondering if anyone had a similar sized grow room / wattage and knew what scrubber / fan worked well in such a space as mine) Cheers guys, any advice is appreciated those dog bollox's look wierd cobo, do you find much of a difference in temp, seems like abit of a gimick, wouldn't it affect light coverage etc?!

You can 1/2 the distance or near enough from light to plants , they do stop the hot spot below the light and seems to spead the light
