Few day old clones yellowing quick!

Well guys I took some DSD, Gonzo#2, Willy's Wonder, and Kushberry clones a few days ago(about 6-7 days) and some are starting to yellow really really bad and wilt also(I know this is kinda norm, but my wilting doesn't look normal :bashhead: !). They are in about 94-95% Hum./71-77 degrees in the dome. I've keep them freshly sprayed a few times a day along with the dome. Their also in rapid rooters. I just cloned 25 BerryPurple's a week ago for my very first time cloning and I only had 1 not root on me, and they also looked healthy all the way through so I don't know what I'm doing wrong this time around...well here's some pics for the clone experts out there, hope I can figure out whats going on because I don't have the time to lose a good 50+ clones right now I'm already so behind schedule :badday: :cuss: !

Oh and btw all the clones had healthy luscious green leaves when they were cut.

Thanks guys appreciate it as always and much :respect:

That's very common and many say it's even supposed to happen! No worries!

:bashhead:

It's very common for the leaves to yellow a bit as the plant leaches nutrients from them to assist in the growth of new roots.

In fact: some take it as a sign that the rooting has occurred.

However, this worries me a bit, as do the pictures:

The plants look drenched in the pictures and you said you directly spray them a few times a day? You should give the dome itself a healthy misting once, maybe twice per day. However, you can stop misting the plants themselves after the first few days. The reason that it needs the excess moisture in the beginning, is because there are no roots to take up moisture so the plant must rely on the leaves. I usually only mist the plants themselves the first 2 days or so. From there, I let the humidity take care of the rest of the wetness.

You want to encourage the plant to start growing roots. By constantly giving it a steady supply of wetness to the leaves, you're not only choking the plant, but you're making it less of a necessity for the plant to grow roots.

So: I would ease back the moisture. Especially if the leaves are starting to yellow for 2 reasons:
1) Moisture + dying tissue = mold
2) The yellow leaves may be an indication that it's starting to root. Encourage it by leaving it in a healthy humid climate so the leaves can draw what moisture they need.

I wouldn't worry about the yellowing. A bit drier, and the wilting will probably stop for ya too.

Keep your head up!

Good luck in your travels!

Thanks! Glad you like the Avatar and the info.

I had less than wonderful success my first time cloning but I learned a lot from the experience.

Since that time, I've had 100% success.

I think that people make it out to be a bit more "mojo" than it really is.

Find what works for you. When you do, don't ever let anyone tell you: "you're doing it wrong."
