Fertilizer question???????

hey, whats up guys

Well I've finaly found a hydroponics store near my house so now I can purchase fertilizer without those crazy shipping fees.

Anyways down to the point. What is the best nute formula for a newbie? Never used nutes in my life. I didnt use any nutes on my first grow so I have no experience. So, whats the best thing to do? Go chemical or organic? Chemical seems easier for a newbie with those 3 part fertilizer gro bloom n micro sets. Anyone eles got an opinion? thanks

what kind of grow medium are you using, and are you adding anything to the medium (worm castings, etc...) this will make a big difference on what nutes to use.

i say go with GH floranova bloom. use 2ml per gallon every time you water, or use 8ml per gallon every 3rd watering. you only need to buy the bloom bottle if you use the floraNOVA line.

or for an organic option go with metanaturals. use 3ml of the 3-3-3 and 3ml of the
1-5-5 every time you water; or 10ml of each every third time you water.

these formula's are known as "lucas formulas". he came up with these and others using a spreadsheet to meet certain NPK ratios. you use the same formula during the whole grow, there is no need to have different veg and bloom formulas. you can search lucas formula and get alot of info...

good growing!!!

i will second the flora nova...newbie friendly:) Ask for that or Pure Blend Pro, you can't go wrong with either :)

I say go organic, original pureblend grow and bloom(not pureblend Pro), I've found that it's much more difficult to overfeed your plants with organic ferts, nice light mix and use the pureblend grow for veg, add a bit of blood meal and bone meal to your flowering soil mix, fert with pureblend bloom and maybe a touch of foxfarm big bloom in early flowering and your set. IMHO the results taste better as well but everyone's got their own opinion on this.

Weed Seed, I'm guessing ur looking to give ur plants nutes during the veggie stage..so ur pry looking for a veg fert, correct? What kind of medium do u use, with what added? As for organic alternatives.... Alaska Fish Emulsion works very good. Even though it sounds rough..lol...it really dont stink that bad at all! And i agree with the opinions on the Flora nova and Pure Blend.... i've yet to use these products, but i hear many many comments on people that use them and that they work great! -Opt

They are all good, I went PBP for soil, cause it's organic and i'm too lazy to be mixing up shit. It seems to be the most popular, if we took a poll, be interesting

Over the last few years i have tried to use different ferts, each grow just to have real proof on what works..and what doesnt. I'am starting to get quite a collection..Last year I used a organic soil mix..until the soil was depleted. Then I started using Old Age Organic 12-6-6 in conjunction with karma/liquid kelp for the final part of veg.During bloom I used old age bloom w/Belize hi-P bat tea, karma, and Micro=blast. This year I'm using the same soil mix,but I'm going fox farms Tiger and big bloom in conjunction with karma and budswel...it sounds like a lot of shit, but I usually add ferts at such low dosages.I don't really have ''burn'' issues.Any liquid ferts are usually mixed 1tsp/gal of h2o..this works well.I even did a whole grow with Alaska fish ferts, a few years back..4-2-1 and 0-10-10. I think I ended=up supplementing the back end of the fish grow with a low dose nitrogen..due to serious yellowing...Live and learn..haha. So far, whats going on Now,with the fox farms is kickin ass..I don't have 1 single brown leaf-tip in site..everything is just pure green..I'm sure that will change during bloom though. It really takes some serious time to get the correct dosages and timing right..I think it's just natural to want to bump-up ferts..ya gotta have a gameplan and stick to it..!!!
