Fert question - 5-20-10 for Flowering?

Hi all,
Im rather new here and still trying to do more reading than posting, since almost everyone of my questions have already been answered by reading through all the threads.

However I am now in need of advice on my next purchase, fertilizer. I'm familiar with the 1-2-3 NPK rule of thumb but only have access to local (non-hydro) shops, like Lowes, Homedepot, etc. I have decided to veer away from Shultz and MG. I do have a bottle of MaxiCrop liquid seaweed (0.1-0-1) for trace elements. I also have a bottle of Ironite but will not be using it due to the trace metals (lead and arsenic) found in it.

So my question is will these work for veg/flower

Veg: 5-1-1 Alaska Fish Fertilizer

Flower: 5-20-10 Root Stimulator and Starter Solution

My concern is with the 'Starter Solution', although its marketed as such isnt the NPK what's important here? Like I said Im new to this and would love some input or alternatives. Thanks in advance.

Thankfully my grow is in the basement so the smell isnt too big of an issue. Although I think its funny they would advertise it as an 'All purpose deodorized fish emulsion'. Aside from it smelling like poop in a bottle it seems to be working okay for you then? I'm still curious about the other stuff for flowering though.

The ironite should not even be used on your lawn.....

Do a google search and it will scare you.....

Its made from sludge....

While I dont recommend it.....(what you are doing)

I would use the seaweed with the fish and if you insist on using the other stuff too....

the npk is ok...... 5 20 10 is a good ratio but it will be missing some micros which could be supplemented by the seaweed.....

You would also want to have dolomitic lime for the increased magnesium you need..... if they yellow too early in flower add some fish.....

on paper it could work.....

The reason they are calling the 5-20-10 a root stimulator and starter solution is because when you take cuttings from a plant, they will be high in N but low in P,thats why its a good idea to give the plant a shot of bloom fert before taking cuttings. For example Olivia's cloning solution is .06-.13-.07 and their cloning gel is nearly identical in NPK.Yes NPK is important in figuring fertys for veg and bloom, but what the ferts are designed for is just as important.I personally would try hard as hell to find something else to flower with, something with a similar NPK but is made for flowering plants.I could be dead wrong on this,it may make a dcent flowering fert I dont know, but I wouldnt use something made for cloning on my flowering plants unless its absolutely all I could find.Peters is supposed to be a good chem. fert, much better than schulktz from what I've heard. You wont do much better than 5-1-1 fish emulsion though for veg, you're lucky your vegroom isnt your bedroom and you have to sleep with that fishy smell!

Thanks for the sound advice.
My head is on the verge of exploding from all the info Ive been absorbing over the past month. Originally I planned going Hydro (Drip and DWC) So I learned all I could on Hydroponics and even set up the system and ran it for a week with no plants or nutes to test it. Lost power for a week due to the storm and decided to switch to soil, now Im trying to learn all I can about that. I think I may be making it seem harder than it really is or something, I dont know.

I stumbled into the 'Organic Soil' section of the forums last nite for the first time and it was like a veil had been lifted, where as before I had only been looking in the 'Indoor Grows - Soil' section. Perlite, Peatmoss, Blood meal, Bone meal, all this stuff is easy to get and It looks like this will be the route I'll be going. Looks like I still have alot more lurking to do.

hm.. doesnt that root stimulator/starter solution have auxin (IBA, IAA, or something similar) in it? I'd be sketchy about using something with plant growth regulators as a bloom fert. You could fuck up the ratios of hormones and have some weirrrddd growth.

I'd go score some real nutes. http://plantlightinghydroponics.com/ has some cheap shit... I ordered some pbp bloom from there, only 8 bucks or so, plus a bit more for shipping... UPS ground but it got here the next day.
