Fermented plant extracts

I'm talking fermented material like you would pull out of a bokashi bucket (acid fermentation/partial digestion).

I imagine you could process poo anaerobically and get similar results?

Latest batch of Fpe from my garden consists of blackberries, fuschia flowers and pinapple sage. Smells amazing! Outdoor NLxhaze likes it too.

Anyone have experience with red clover? It is flowering currently all over where I live. I was thinking of using the same dilution rate of 1:30 and I'm just guessing this tea would be best in veg and not flower?

i use clovers in late veg. if you catch them with a lot of blooms you can do the first two weeks of flower.

alright! just foliar'd with nettle fpe this morning and the plants responded visibly! very happy babies.

i've made a bunch in the last few weeks: lavender, nettle, dandelion, rosemary.

i've been doing alternating applications of lavender, then kelp extract, then neem oil and silica. just put the nettle into rotation today. i bet the dandelion will make them happy too.

hurray for FPE's!

Just starting some seeds in soil. I know they are light dependent for germination and these were surface sown seeds. Beyond that? Nothing fancy. Last year they got to be about 1.5 inches tall and then died. My lavender died as well, but all my other plants did well. Including a nice basil plant that i kept for 10 months. :) mmmm mmmm

Speaking of which i have a whole slew of basil varieties to grow this year and i'll be trying some FPE with them as well and report back. Just got my Bocking 14 comfrey cultivar in the mail. :D

hmmm, all i normally do is go find a spot i want chamomile growing, rough up the soil some. toss seeds out and let winter take its course, come spring they will grow when ready. watering when older every now and then keeps em going as well as picking the blooms often.

if you can get it germinated and growing your pretty good, you just need to get the right spot. mine is all in full sun.

3rd eye you could also just try sowing some in some small pots, get them started and then plant them. one plant will give you hundreds if not thousands of seeds for next year. so even if you only get one plant going, your good lol.

After all this talk about doing things on the low budget system, and me conveniently not having any EM on hand. Which by the way if you are going to fork over the bucks for it order the pure starter culture and activate it yourself, so much more cost effective. Anyways, I think i might say ef the EM for right now and try using fresh whey or making a lactobacilli culture of my own. Ill let you know.

I'll give them another try jay. :) I'm sure i'll get some this year. Last year was very tumultuous and now i'm fighting tomato rust mites i'm pretty sure. Always something new to learn eh?

Just made started another batch of lavender FPE. This time it's stronger than my original mix. Wonderful smell and very effective. Picking up some more organic neem oil and seed cake as well.

thanks for all the contributions

just so you know the lavender spray is not about how strong it is. i actually find the less concentrated extract to work a lil better. that being said its pretty fucking hard to mess up this method.

I wasn't trying to make it ultra concentrated jay, but i do appreciate you tapping on the reins. ;) My first batch was so dilute that i almost didn't have to dilute it. This time i wanted something that i could use on more plants.

Sprayed my plants, including very young seedlings, and they all responded very well to it. :) Now i'm just waiting for my comfrey to mature.
