Female Seeds Grapefruit

Got these seeds last year and decided to grow them out this summer. The buds were harvested after 76 days flower, dried and put into mason jars for the past 2 months.

Smell: 7/10
The smell is like a bunch of dried flowers. Then when broken up it keeps the floral smell but adds a pungent citrus smell. Not really grapefruit more like lemon-lime.

Appearance: 9/10
The buds have a nice, dense structure. Produces lots of small Christmas tree buds that have lots of orange hairs. This particular pheno was also very frosty and sticky. When the buds are dry they appear a dark blue and grayish color.

Taste: 6/10
The taste is a lot like the smell. Kind of floral, earthy and citrusy. Not a bad taste but nothing special.

High: 8/10
Nice mixed sativa/indica high. This bud wont knock you out and it gets you thinking. After the first puff, your head lightens up a bit and your legs get heavy. By the time youre done with the bowl, you feel comfortable and things are in a different perspective.

Overall: 7/10
I really do enjoy these buds but they just lack a little character. Pretty much the standard marijuana high as far as Im concerned. The plants are pretty forgiving but the stretch makes them a handful. And the flowering times for me were too much. I would like this strain a lot more if it were done within 9 weeks but it took me almost 11 weeks. So if you have the time, patience, and room for Grapefruit then go for it but she, unfortunately, wont keep her spot in my garden.

Thank you for your thoughts. I grew out a Grapefurit cross and i had simular experances. And I concluded that it wasn't a keeper. I had to keep searching.

Did you ever find a keeper sativa-dominant plant with good taste and potency that could be grown indoors in a reasonable amount of time? I'd sure like to know about it! I was thinking about grapefruit, but now I'm unsure. I was also thinking maybe a Kali Mist based cross...I love what that stuff does to me. Anyways, it sounds like you've been around the block...any particular suggestions?

SmokeyPufmaster Thanks for stopping by. Which cross did you grow? I currently have this pheno in flower at about 50 days that I pollenated with an Apollo 11 male. It was my own mistake to put this lady back into flower but I didnt expect her to take that long and the clones were getting big.

Socrates Yeah I did have a sativa pheno that was good but it just lacked the potency I was looking for in a sativa. She beat out the pheno I described in every category except potency so I didnt do the report on her. As far as sativa/hybrids Ive grown Id recommend PPP, Apollo 11, or C99. But Ive tried Kali Mist and I enjoyed it very much. In fact a Kali Mist cross will probably be in my garden next time around.

WeeD22MaN Glad that my opinion matters. Good luck with your decision.

All together I enjoyed the grow and the smoke but it just wasnt what I was looking for. I just found it to be a little too 'vanilla' for my liking and theres sooo little space in my growroom that I have to be picky. Peace.

Excellent report Indophalic. I just finished my Grapefruit as well, and you described the entire thing to a T. I also wrote a report and think the bud is great, but it lacks some jazz. The high for me is awesome but I think it could have much more of a taste. I guess i got lucky with my pheno, my flower only went 9 weeks. Now I have two ounces in the freezer to cure until i burn through this other 3. How was your yield? I got a total of 4 1/2 from one girl under a 400 watt HPS. What else are you growing or going to be growing. I just dropped two Wonder Diesels and two Wonder Haze. Time for you and I to enjoy the fruits of our labor, enjoy the bud and share.

Thanks moneyshot.... checked out your thread and it sounds like you got the sativa pheno with a diesely taste. I had this one too but when I bought these seeds I was hoping for a more potent sativa. And I just didnt find her.
I didnt weigh this grow so I couldnt say for sure. But I got at least 2 ounces from each of the taller phenos under the 400W and about 2 ozs from the other pheno under 250W. Not bad at all considering I flowered them at 1 foot.
The Wonder Diesel and Wonder Haze sound awesome. I think Ill pop some BOG Lifestar, a Kali Mist cross, and Mikado in a few months. Keep your eyes peeled for that. :D Peace.

Thanks for the input everyone. :D
I hope that I didnt discourage anyone from trying these seeds out for themselves. This is certainly the best strain that Ive tried under $30. It beats every Nirvana strain that Ive grown/smoked. And it really makes it easy for those who dont have a lot of space to sex plants.

So bottom line theres almost always going to be better strains out there and my opinion is just one of many. Peace and stay safe everybody.
