Female hairs on Male plants?

Hi everyone, I need help from the experts....breeders, etc...
I have a plant i'm sexing, and have removed females that are definitely females...
Now my male plants that are still in veg are displaying occasional female hairs....is there a chance they could be hermie? I have heard of male flowers showing up on female plants, but are there cases of this happening in reverse? -- Or do you folksd think maybe I just made a mistake and they are actually females....I have yet to see actual positive indication they are males (they are in veg) but I suspected them early on since the others showed more prominent female hairs early on.....
Out of 5 seeds that survived, I find it hard to imagine all would be females. They were not ordered form a company, they were found in bud.

Thoughts anyone?
Thanks

Sound like hermie males. I'd avoid them for any breeding or pollination. Good luck! dubi

How much experience do you have sexing? At the very onset of flowering it can be kind of difficult to tell the goilz from the boiz and in preflowering it can be very difficult even for an experienced grower. When in doubt, flower it out. After the onset of true flowering it becomes very easy to differentiate, just let them flower long enough so there isn't a shadow of a doubt as to their sex. It doesn't hurt to be sure. On a side note it is always possible that they are all female if they came from bagseed as most of the time if it was just a few seeds in the bag it was self pollinated so it's got hermi genes in it as well. Once your plants are two - three weeks into flower you'll know their sex for sure.

there are male hermies that shoot female pistils. i tend to keep away from any hermie but i know someone who found one and used it to make some real good seeds.

These are Purple Rock seeds. Possibly some of the best in the world. It would be like someone having a chemdawg male that partially hermied. I don't know what to do. I have both females in flower now, and I will flower out the males seperately, that's for sure.
I consider myself one of the luckiest people of all, since I offered 5000 for a cut and was refused...and then scored seeds by the grace of the Goddess...in the buds I purchased. Since then, the bud dissappeared, the lady growing it dissappeared and the club hasn't seen it for almost 5 months now.
I have more seeds, fortunately, but i want to see what we have here already. 2 Female Phenos and 3 males (possibly diff. phenos as well).

I have sexed before, but it does seem difficult for some reason, with these girls and boys...could be a hermie related problem.
If it is, and I cannot isolate it and remove it eventually, by preselecting the best male, I will go ahead and release the cut, but for now, i'm trying to breed with it and perfect a couple crosses. (Look for an upcoming post called "The Purple Rock Breeding Project") ...in the near future.

wow..

Just ask the owners of Valencia Club or Purple Heart in SF.....They all know. It's the truth.

I went in there several times.....One time I told the guy working there I had scored seeds from the Rock, he freaked....I then told him I had another 35 strains, and started naming them all, and he stopped me short..said , "None of that matters, dude...you got Purple Rock!" -- He also told me about how people would come in, ask for it, he would tell them it wasn't back in yet...and they would turn 180 degrees around and leave without looking at anything else...and that was their Top Shelf $60.00 1/8 stuff. They couldnt keep it in stock, and it was THE favorite of the neighborhood. I'll repeat the whole story for those that don't know already, in my upcoming thread about the Breeding Project.

I went to 25 clubs in SF and East Bay sampling strains...and this one made the nicest impression on me, sight, smell, taste, and stoniness....out of over 200 strains i must have looked at....at least. Of course, I only tried out about 30 different ones, but I chose the best from all the clubs.

well if the seed off a purchased bud, and you cant really tell, i understand you thought they might be males when presexin in veg?

id say they were either a mystery cross of the strain, or herm seed, which from what you say they may all be female, then herm seed would explain all the females.

put um all to flower, and you can tell for sure.

I took cuts from them all beforehand.....and labeled them all accordingly. I guess they will all get flowered real soon.

it´s funny i am growing some bag seed´s from equador I planted 6 seed´s after 15-20 day´s on 18/6 the first preflowers came, after a coupel of day´s more, more preflower emerged. I got a littel confused and put the ligth down to 12/12, now the plants are a littel over 1 month old and all 6 plants have preflowers, none have produced any male flowers yet.

I am not sure what to think (yet ) maby it's a hermi case like rudedude say´s - or gen´s like jaykush say-

My boy has hairs!!

My boy has hairs!!

I, too, have a male plant that has sprouted many, MANY white, pistil looking hairs.

He is definitely a boy; he has balls all over. But he also has tons of pistils, for lack of a better word.

I thought I was seeing things and I have purposely not pulled his ass, yet, because I wanted to check the forums to see if anyone else has seen this sort of thing. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Like, medikush's, my lil boy also comes from bagseed (tho, I think I read that Medi's seeds came from the bud of a known strain) and I noticed he had female looking pistils on his nodes when he first began to show his sex.

I let him go longer and he developed balls, so I know he's a boy. He has been in 12/12 for 22 days.

I have a few grows under my belt, but I'm nowhere near ready for breeding, so I guess I'll cut him down sometime this week since I don't have the room or knowledge to do anything else with him. It's just good to know I'm not the only one who has witnessed this "male hermi" phenomenon. Or could it be classified as a trait of whatever strain he comes from? Are there other strains with males that sprout hairs?

Too bad though, he's a healthy boy and I have three of his sister's in flower as well. They look to be nice indicas with slight purple shading around the buds. I love bagseed, so much mystery and intrigue.

:muahaha:

Ya'll take care and be safe.

peace

Buddy
