Fem Seeds

Is using fem seeds the same as using clones? i mean are all fem seeds the same geneticly as the mother plant that made them? Ive never used fem seeds before and now im bout to start up a small show and in between the time I last grew and now I see mostly fem seeds. I figure Id like to try them out. I plan on poppin a couple beans and mothering them. No harm in mothering fems rite? Same as if I got a clone rite?

Every seed plant will be different, some slightly some very, depending on the parents used.
Clones will basically be all the same plant but can differ in outcome when grown in different conditions.
Clones from fem seeds are as good as clones from reg seeds, if parents are good.

Thanks for the reply Koondense, But what about when there's only one parent? thats what Im really asking. Are fem seeds all exact genetic copies or their parent plant?

What you are talking about are S1 or "selfed" seeds. Only some fem seeds are made that way. Typically when fem seeds are made, the mother and "father" (pollen donor) are totally different clones.

Even when talking about S1 seeds, they will not be exact clones. Cannabis inherits two chromosomes for every gene, one from the mother and one from the father. When selfing a plant these will be shuffled every which way, resulting in different kinds of plants from the seeds.

Of course, in theory it's possible that one of the seeds is an exact clone. But it is very very unlikely. Drug cannabis has about 30000 genes. I tried to calculate what your odds of finding that exact clone from an S1 seed is with an online calculator and the result was...
