Fem sativa advice

Hi ok it's a dirty word, but i got a couple of ACE fems, Congo and zamdelcia.

Has anyone grown these out and can give some tips re height and training. As they are crossed will they be more controllable than regs? I was planning to pot them up to 11l for flowering.

Would this be too big and how long would you veg for?

I've got about 1.6 height when light at max

Any other tips appreciate. Grow organic living soil. Waiting for weather to warm a bit before I pop them.
Thanks .

Not sure which words were dirty, but I have had success keeping size down by going 12\12 from seed, then topping with a bit of training.

1.6 meters or feet? Hope it's meters or you will probably want to SOG somehow

Adding some extra aminos during stretch may help.

Why is it a dirty word? Ace's genetics are rock solid and you'll have absolutely no problems with them at all.
Not sure about the Congo (but its flowering time will definitely be shorter than the Zamaldelica, thus stretch will stop at different times, making judging overall height difficult), but the Zamaldelica will respond really well to training, look for a mainlining tutorial and if youo have enough veg time, follow that. The Zamaldelica will get big.
If you can, I'd recommend growing the same variety together - it might make for a lack of variety n your flowers, but it'll make the growing bit much less of a headache.
Good luck, you'll love the finished result of both :)

The fem bit being dirty! Not a slight on Ace.

Fancied seeing if I like the smoke on these. Before investing in regs like. Never grown / smoked a true sat. Got 1.6m to play with.

Have you smoke both the reg and fem versions of these? Wonder how the crossing effected them?

Just found this thread. Good info re fem reg. should have searched more!

From a number of ACE threads...

Cones flower quicker than their seed mothers

Using less than 12h in Flower can really speed up flowering time, some go as low as 10 h

Everything I have tried of theirs is really easy to root and not sensitive to nutes, in coco, not running high EC. Like this, stretch is not silly either

You can never grow enough

Welcome vikinglace,

Congo is overall very easy to grow indoors and Zamaldelica fem is more tamed, compact and highly worked than the standard version.

I would give them 3-4 weeks of veg in 3-7 liter pots and only transplant to final 11 liter pot if you are not having height problems after initial stretching of flowering.

Hope it helps, good luck with your grow ;) dubi

Thanks for the advice Dubi, great to hear from the man :) . Can I just check, do you mean you would pot up to say 7l , then switch to 12/12 for a week or so.

See how they stretch and then decide if they should go into 11's? I've always potted up to finals before the flip see.

Do they respond well to topping? Really looking forward to growing these out in time for summer :yummy:

Hi vikinglace,

Yes, i will do that, only transplant to final 11 liter pots after they finish the stretching in early flowering.

All our sativa strains respond very well to topping.
Best wishes!
