Fem Chemmy Jones.. Balls everywhere

Z

zooty

i've got 5 chemmy jones along side a few other strains and all of the CJ's have full on male pollen sacks

not nanners but full on balls all over the lower nodes around 1 week into flower now. I was dubious about these genetics but thought i'd give them a go, that's around 4.5 weeks wasted.

Gotta keep fems r33l happy like, they were engineered to be female. Last fem I had was really stressed and fucked off a whole crop. Havent bought a fem since, haven't had crop failure since. Unless you count my upgrade to 1000w earlier this year that was a learning curve that bit me in the ass lol. 8 5gal in a 4x4 is doable w/ a 600....1000w they overgrew that shit in no time. Now I know.

sorry to hear of your trouble
why was you dubious about these genetics

sounds very strange as ive had zero complaints of hermi in the feminized chemy jones ?
where did you purchase them from and when ?
you got any pics of the plants or even the packaging ?

you do get some issue with feminized seeds sometimes(mostly light leaks as they very sensitive to it) and some times like you mentioned a ball sack on the lowers normaly plucked of causes no issues at all

hit me back with some more info and we will see what we can do

peace

I got them from puresativa a while back when collecting my bubblebags

Haven't got pics of the plants either they are rotting in the compost, and I wasn't even after a replacement once I get a full on hermie from a breeder I steer well clear.

It's not an environment issue either there are numerous other strains alongside, the preflowers on all the lower nodes were showing balls it would of been a nightmare picking them all off id rather just get rid of them.. only reliable fem breeder i know is paradise

Not to be a douce nor anything, but growers with Your knowledge should know the potential risk´s´of fem seed lines, eventough it´s "rare" these days. (is it because of people getting better growing, better tents / no light leaks , breeding or a combo ?) ..

But I think Your wording or view on the situation against OJD is a bit harsh.

He have quickly replied and are interested to get to the buttom of the eventual problem/s.

I just wasted 57 days on some gifted seedlings (unknown wild seed line) where all hermed.

I knew the risks accepting them, but I also knew how the mind would have been, if something nice showed up.

Life is all about choices and every choice has a de-choice.

Big up n Peace :)

I think you should see what ojd will do for you. He seems to be pretty genuine and reports of his gear are usually glowing. You may have just been unlucky, but I wouldn't write off his whole range.

I know the risks of fem seeds, I don't mind a nanner here and there but the only breeders i've seen full on hermaphrodites from in early flower with actual pollen sacks are this pack of chemmy jones and a whole pack of cali connection 818 headband.

hey zooty,,,,,
been running connoisseur strains for a good few years now in fem bean mostly but some reg bean runs also and have never had any go to the darkside even when running testers,,,,,
not wanting to contradict you just interested that they hermed on ya and that your totally 100% per cent you had no leaks or anything like that as I have never experienced any of connoisseur strains to be anthing but "rock solid" over the years,,
best of luck with your future runs:),,,s2

zooty,
Good info. I don't find anything you report to be "harsh". Who wants to spend time picking pollen sacs off of female plants? Seeds are expensive, and the time it took to realize you wasted yours, ...you can never get back. That hurts even more.

Indeed Picarus. I'm not as fussed about the cost of the seeds, it's more the time wasted nurturing them that I'm upset about

I suppose this should be expected when working with hermie genetics and crossing poly-hybrid with other poly-hybrids. My area is fully dark, but even so a small light leak shouldn't cause a plant to go full on hermie unless the genetics are weak and I find it funny when I see breeders on boards insinuating that you have stressed the plant and that's why it's growing balls.

What I meant by being dubious OJD was the genetic make up of the Chemmy Jones cross. Casey Jones I've grown and it naturally pops nanners at the end of flower, which is normal and nothing to worry about.. I've never grown any chems but I've heard they are also prone to hermie so a feminized version of these could spell trouble.. but I went for it any way.. win some you lose some I guess lol

I mentioned it already mate. I got them from PureSativa shop in Harlsden around 6-8 months ago

I'm gutted I had to cull them they were looking great, most vigorous in the garden, and they had their own 750w gavita too

I also read from Piff that he did a test run and found no issues with the cheesedogs...it should also be noted that anything with chemdog in it is a potential hermi risk...
