feeding true AF's?

hey guys i am a novice grower. 2-3 crops. but this is my first run with AF's.

my question is im doing hydro. with a 3 part fert. now with AF having little or no real veg time how do i feed them?

the directions for my nutes is for seedling/veg/than an 8wk flower time.

so are most of you using the lucas formula. or do i just follow my 8wk flower feeding. but start them off at 1/4 strenth, then 1/2, too full?

thankx for any help.... i have just started reading the AF forum, so if this is common knowledge. bare with me.

if your running gh nutes, just use micro n bloom the whole way through not at 6/9ml per gallon though, start at quater strenght if even that much and see how they respond, if your bent on useing veg nutes then veg feed them for almost three weeks then switch to bloom, auto cannabis is cannabis , its just not light sensitive. nothing has changed.

and hilbie its not GH 3 part. its the BC grow/bloom/micro. but i have been told they are pretty much the same. so can i follow lucas feeding using this 3 part?

they do have a certain veg time. just give them veg nutes until you start seeing some budding, and then switch to bloom.

just the same as regular strains. once you see a fair number of hairs then you switch :D

thankx AC... when i switch to bloom do i go full strenth or half for a week or two.

also hilbie you said use lucas but not at 6/9. so what percentage do i mix them at?

oh ya AC they are just seedlings now. and what would be best to use a 150w hps for veg and bloom. or just stick with my 42w cfl that i am using now for seedlings for veg. then when i see preflowers switch to the hps?

hi snuggy, id go with the hps as soon as possible, i think it will provide you with a bushyer plant and more yield if you run it from the start.

im not familiar with lucas forumula im afraid, but be careful with nutes while they are seedlings.

i think feeding normal strenght once they start flowering is probably best, alittle lower for autos then for regular strains as autos are often nute sensitive. when they start flowering they have quite an explosive growth so i think you might want to slowly start increasing the EC strenght from that point on. i think 1,5 as max EC is about good for autos.

so if you feed approx 1,0 EC at the start of flowering and around 1,5 at ca. week 3-5 depending on the strain, that will be good.

i usually give 1 or 2 feedings of ph adjusted water in between switching from vegnutes to bloomnutes so they can absorb whats stored in the soil. giving enzyme might also be good at this time.

hope this was of some help to you. peace -as
